Inglourious basterds (3 Viewers)

Hi Rod, sorry but I can't say I'm a big Quentin Tarantino fan. Most of his movies I've seen have been complete ripoffs of other films, they are also very disjointed and hard to follow. And before someone accuses me of being a bit dim, I should mention that I did appreciated that "Cloverfield" portrayed a "found film" shot by amateurs.

I'm also old enough to remember "The Inglorious Bastards" that was released in the early days of Video (in Australia) which was an Italian "Dirty Dozen" ripoff, and I suspect the QT version is along the same lines. There are plenty of factual WWII battles that movie makers could base a movie on, so why have recent movies been based on fiction. For example the "Defiance" movie appears to be so removed from reality that it's almost a made up story.

The other problem I have is that like most QT films, this movie relies a lot on the depiction of violence at a very personal level. Don't get me wrong, I like good action as much as anyone, maybe even more. However, I refuse to pay money to watch movies that depict joy in sadism, such as "Silence of the Lambs" etc, and this movie seems no different imo.

I've not seen this yet,but it really is getting very mixed reviews indeed, with some thing its not very good at all. However i hope to see it soon and judge for myself.

Cloverfield was probably the best monster-destroys-city movie ever made, much better than any Dodzilla or King Kong. Before the monster hits New York we even forget about it and think we are watching some romantic comedy!
:D

Cheers...

Well yes, I thought is was a lost episode of amateur Sex in the City.:cool: Of course it is best watched while totally wasted or asleep.;):D

Agree with Oz,

I'm not fan of Tarentino's "slasher" movies,

except maybe "Dusk To Dawn",

and I would watch that right now just to see Salma Hayek dance,

and of course "Pulp Fiction".

but I will catch this one.

This is a different trailer than posted below, mas mejor!:D:D:D

By the looks of the previews, I'll have to pass on this one. It's one thing to be dropped behind enemy lines with a mission to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy. It's another thing to be dropped behind enemy lines to commit war crimes against the enemy in the name of vengence.
Semper Fi!

When I saw the trailer, I imagined a hammy, psychotic remake of Dirty Dozen..Not sure ,but might be worth a rental..Michael

I got mixed opinions after seeing the tv trailer.

The website trailers are much better, so, I dunno, but I'll go see it.

It looks brutal.

I was a fan of Tarantino movies..then he started to homage all the B movies (mainly italian and hong kong) copying sequences and the beautiful musics of my countryman Morricone , it's good to make a film in this way, but now it's the third (4th counting Kill Bill as 1 & 2) movie in a row that he does so..but i'll gonna watch it..i'm curious to see Mike Myers doing a nazi(?) general by the name of Fenech (named so by Tarantino to honour Edwige Fenech the most beautiful woman to grace this earth..and the world of B movies italian style!)

I saw a preview of it at the movies today, it looks almost like a slasher movie.
I agree with Panzer on this one.

Looks good:)

Just saw the trailer last night when I went to see Public Enemies:D
