This is a rather puzzling comment and there is no double standard because the two don't seem comparable. Can you explain what you meant so we can see how the two equate.

I think what Uksubs mean is that when a forum member posts that he has been mistreated by an ebay seller the forum is a buzz. Members want the userid so they can block said person so he cannot buy from them.

Here things have been a bit more calm and sympathetic.

I recommend in hindsight he should have just raised his prices and took all the abuse the forum could dish out, much preferable to prison.
But seriously the thought that someone who has been extrordinarily successful should/ can afford to pay more than everyone else is rife in the country and world.
I wonder if he ever approached Mr. jackson about a loan or partnership?
Plane old thievery, sad very sad, i wonder what was the moment that you can justify in your mind that this will work out and it's OK?
For years I tried to deal with MTS and just could not get any decent customer service, finally I made contact with Jennifer there and everything has been above and beyond and I was more than confident to deal with them, I feel for the employees.

I basically started my TS collecting with Rick. I found out about KC through him. Shocking news.

When I saw this story break I was in awe. I could not believe what I was seeing. I have been to Ricks store numerous times and have always been treated well by him and his staff. In fact Just prior to Xmas I was in the store picking up some Games Workshop "Lord of the Rings" sets for my son that he had suggested (kinda Ironic).

Where Ricks business goes from here is no ones guess.

This is Rick from Michigan Toy Soldier. These events actually occurred some years ago and have been in the process of restitution for some time now. I am deeply embarrassed and sorry about this situation. My wonderful staff had no knowledge of my actions. I am committed to restoring Michigan Toy Soldier and I hope you will support us in doing so.

I think I speak for most when I say that we all have the potential to make bad, or really bad mistakes, but that owning up to it is the best thing we can do. Though I have never dealt with MTS, I trust that they, including you, are great to deal with, and good people. Pay it back, plus some, yes. Prison, no. I for one think that it takes much more guts to admit it publicly to us here than it takes "bad will" to do the thing. I wish you luck.

So if I rob a bank and get caught, all I should do is pay the bank back. Tell them I,m sorry then go about my merry way!
That,s not how it works and I don,t think you are speaking for most.

There's an old saying,"sometimes good people do bad things".That isn't saying he shouldn't be punished but it doesn't mean he's a monster either.I just don't understand how he could think that Jackson wouldn't notice.I'm sure a man of Jackson's wealth has accountants who go over his fianaces daily.

Man, I am amazed at how forgiving some of you are. I think the comments would be a little different if your customer trust and credit cards had been abused like this. I have to ask myself would this heroic gesture of admitting ones crime even had been posted if this had not been made public ? I find the whole incident inaccusable.

Although in a free society we have the right to generally discuss anything, as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitition, this thread discussing (and judging in the court of current opinion) a person prominent in the business who made a grievous mistake when there appear to be current court proceedings leaves me rather uneasy.

Your correct that is what I was trying to say

Oh...I soooo agree with this post!!! I wonder if K&C still sells to him???

Well said

I know first hand the difficulty of keeping a hobby based business afloat, but wow.

Peter Jackson was a customer of ours too. Really nice guy. And I bought some stuff from Rick too and had a genuinely nice experience.

What a mess.

I applaud Rick for coming on here to apologize but, seriously, how does somebody betray a good customer like that? These people trust their chosen dealers with their credit cards and all matter of personal information.

I hope this works out the best it possibly can.
It make no difference he was a good customer or a bad customer you don't take someone else money that is a fact !

Brad, may I point out he pleaded GUILTY to said crime.
So why do you feel uneasy?
It isn,t like some prison snitch accused him of this misdeed.
