It is interesting to note how so much of our modern day Christmas celebration and traditions are directly rooted to non Christian (or for the lack of a better word, Pagan) celebrations and rituals. A good many are from Nordic/Germanic regions (no snow, fir trees, or mistletoe in Bethlehem). This season during the Solstice is also a very popular time when many ancient gods births were celebrated. So Steve, I raise my cup of wine to you and wish you a fun filled Saturnalia and a happy Solstice.

Looks like these guys have finished work early for the festival, some may be imbibing just that little too much, but the morning hangover is well, tomorrow !

Yes Mike. Lot of Christmas traditions stem from Germany with Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert making such things fashionable and what we think of as making Christmas 🎄
