Is our Hobby Changing? (1 Viewer)

Sammy; I collect many scales of armored vehicles; from 1/72 to 1/16. The Minichamps armor is 1/35 scale and I use it with other Minichamps Armor and 1/35 50mm figures. I think most collectors would agree that the Minichamps products are of excellent quality. Product quality is not a scale issue. I intended to express concern with rapidly increasing prices for Toy Soldiers and contrasting those prices with options other than polystone to reduce costs of manufacturing; such as diecast and resin. I fully agree with you that quality is a personal choice; as is what you are willing to pay for an item. Collector items tend to see a diminishing market as prices exceed value as determined by the customer. A downward spiral results in decreasing demand and increasing prices. Eventually the customer base is insufficient to support the companies producing Toy Soldiers and a contraction occurs with some companies going out of business! NMA and Figarti are recent examples of this trend. The same thing has happened many times in many different areas of collecting.

Katana,

it's as Brad said it's all about choice, so it's great you collect K&C, Figarti, Minichamps or whatever floats your boat and you pay X amount on those sets, just as I pay X amount on my First Legion sets, just leave the BS about who/what is better as it's all a personal preference to each and every collector...Sammy
Well said Sammy :salute::

What happened to the armored train and Bergetiger ^&confuse^&confuse

Why can't you post some pics over here ??

The Figarti prototype is a Panther G modified to include Zimmerit and Schurtzen. Incremental details not a new model. A Kingtiger or Jagdtiger would be a new model.

Still make them In business ! :D

Were they selling products at the show? Were prices up? I have looked at inventory at three large sellers of Figarti and vey little is in stock. You do not produce; you cannot sell. Building prototypes is not a functional business!
