And funnily enough, they replaced Sir Sean with Roger Moore on the grounds he was getting too old for the role . . . and Roger Moore is OLDER!!!

I completely agree that the Sean Connery from the Rock could still pull off the role, but I have enjoyed James Bond in all his various incarnations. I loved Craig in Casino Royale, and (as I haven't gotten around to seeing the sequel) think he is the best since Sir Sean.

I always enjoyed connery in the early films,,I was in basic training at Ft Knox several months after scenes were filmed,,saw the film then also,,I owned the same red mustang as shown in diamonds are forever.

Connery in Goldfinger is the be all end all for me, absolutely the best IMO Bond movie and actor. Oddjob, Galore! the best,

I must have seen every James Bond film 5-10 times each. The next best question is who is everyones favorite James Bond? Personally I liked Roger Moore.

Its got to be Daniel Craig from casino royale for me more gritier looking bond without relying on all the gadgets! i was also impressed with his latest bond outing to be honest but do admit that you need to watch casino royale beforehand if your going to understand whats going on

Both earlier versions of Casino Royale get my vote Barry Nelson as Jimmy Bond with Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre and then David Niven as Sir James Bond-priceless

... Off subject I loved Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

It would be hard not to; "I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky...."; priceless

Maybe it was because he was the Bond I knew when I first saw 007 at the movies, but I like Moore the best. The first movie I saw was Moonraker but my favourite is The Spy Who Loved Me. I like the real English gent he portrays with all the cheeky English humour. I think Connery had that humour too but I found Craig's Bond quite dark. He may be more realistic but I find him unlikeable in character.

I always felt Sean Connery made the character. If was always hard to see anyone else play the character. I do believe Daniel Craig is going to give him a run for his money as the new Bond.
