any intel on the January releases...

I have not heard a thing...

they are usually posted on or around the middle of the month...I was expecting them yesterday...

I'm hoping for some Beja Warriors...a Drogoon and a Ranger's set...

anybody know anything...

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Mannock SE-5 make it's appearence. -- Al

I am with you, Obee,
the 7 Years War line by Jenkins currently is the most exciting news for me to start in 2012.
Looking forward to see them, but don't think they will be up until a little later, like sometime in spring.

It's starting to look like there will be no releases for Jan., but a mid-Jan. announcement for Feb releases. Anyone heard any news?

Besides no entries on January releases at present, anyone know anything regarding a 2012 calendar?

I don't know what's going on with the Jan releases...but the calendar is coming...and is usually given when Club sets are purchased from your dealer...I think...

I've heard secondhand that John has encountered some problems with Chinese customs. Having difficultly shipping. So maybe that is holding things up.

That would suck. I know he had problems with the Santa figure clearing customs in November. This could be a very sad thing if it is not resolved. Maybe we need to take up a "grease the palms of the customs official" collection for John. It worked that way in South America. Cost of doing business. I wonder if any other companies have been troubled by this?

Yes, it sounds like a serious problem that is ongoing and difficult to resolve. So he probably hasn't announced anything new until it's worked out. Again, that's my understanding from someone other than John himself. So take it for what it's worth. But it's the first month since I started collecting his figures in 2006-07 that I can remember him not having a monthly release.

I think that you probably have the correct thoughts there even if not directly from John. I do know John had problems in November, from John himself, so I just hope it gets resolved soon. Has to be a real pain for him. He's trying to run a business and these sorts of hassles are never good.

Let's hope for a speedy resolution.

I guess on the bright side of things, February's announcement will be loaded with product.:)

Hi all, and wishing everyone a great 2012!

Last time I spoke to John he told me he was taking January off, to catch up with sculpting without having to take time out to manage a monthly release. I don't think there is anything to worry about re china customs. (other than the loss of Baron X)
Whilst I was as disappointed as the next collector, I am sure February releases will be hungrily anticipated! (Rangers please!) and it gives us a moment to consolidate, Adam and both added a few missing sets to our collections this month.

Roll on February!

I also had second-hand info that JJD had been having a "problem" with Chinese customs, to the tune that the whole shipment was all but written off. I understand that the Christmas figure was in this shipment along with a lot of dealer re-stocks. -- Al

Disappointing but understandable. John needs some creative time and it gives us all a chance to catch up with our purchases. The SYW Prussians could be big bucks for me! new planes with pilots and"dogfight stands" will also challenge my hobby budget.
get to work John, we'll be waiting.

What's wrong with the Chinese customs,he has been shipping from there for years? Also what's with the Santa figure?
Mark

I ordered a few Osprey books to occupy myself while waiting.
