When I see these type of structures I (mistakenly) instantly think of Normandy.
IS that YOU in the photos, visiting the sights?

Bribie Island is only 15 minutes from my home, amazing to think how many troops and defences were here on the Sunshine Coast in WW2.

Another item of related interest. Known as the ship that saved Australia, the wreck of the USS Lexington, sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea was recently discovered off the Coast of Queensland in March, 2018: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Lexington_(CV-2)#Wreck_location
