Great loads of gobstoppers!! Michael, I believe you may have created a shortage of JJD 1812 figures on the market . Very impressive photo of your massive collection . . .
:smile2: Mike

Hey man, leave a set or two for the rest of us!!

Just kidding, no one can do massed setups like you Mike - but then again, I guess few people have the amount of sets to actually do it :wink2:

thanks for the nice compliments...

this has always been my favorite JJD series...even though I have heard the comment many times...

"they're boring... just aren't colorful enough"...

I have always been drawn to these figures...especially the US side...I love those "grays"...

and while it doesn't seem like a popular series to collect on this forum by the Froggers...someone other than me must be buying these sets...as so many of them have now been retired...

I hope John continues to pursue this series...

in the past he has talked about an Indian contingent for both sides...
expanding the British artillery some more...
officers for both sides...
Horton's 19th Light dragoons...

more Indians interest me the most...this was the first and only battle that the Iroquois nation split to fight on both sides (US...British) against each other...afterwards lamenting and vowing to never fight again against their own brotherhood...

this was also the first time that the US Army held it's own against a superpower...

this was a small engagemant in US history...but it's a great story...

I hope JJ goes deeper into it...maybe he will...

Oh my! {sm2}
I went and looked at my JJD War of 1812 collection and it would be like comparing a Mexican Chihuahua to an Irish Wolf hound.:redface2:

Well, one day when my collection grows up I want it to be just like Mike's! {sm4}.

That is really a wonderful array of GREAT soldiers. And you gotta' love those displays and backdrops. Well done, very well done.
Larry

I sure want to second and triple those words, especially the fact that they are drying up faster than many series of any manufacturer that I have seen.

Also, you have to love the simple "grays" and look super when compared against the British "REDS"

Lovely job. Michael...you always find a way of topping your last effort! I also love this range, and if there are other 1812 enthusiasts on this forum, I would love to see their displays. Larry Allen recently posted some great pics with his JJD 1812 figures displayed against a background of those great JG Miniatures structures; they seem to compliment each other really well.

Anyway, pleased to see folks taking the time to do with these figures what they were designed for...DISPLAY!

I wish I had the focus and discipline to put together a range of similar figures that grand. Fabulous collection beautifully displayed!!

Mark...
that's an $8 landscape poster from Hobby Lobby...
an arts and crafts store...
similar to Michaels...
next time you're in there....look through them...
they are huge...like 2'x3'...
you can cut them down too...

I've never heard of Hobby Lobby but I will check Michael's out.thanks Mike.
Mark
