I finished a permanent diorama to display my JJD French Poulis...I really had to improvise with a corner diorama as all my cabinets...shelves...etc...are full...I really have to stop collecting new series...but I couldn't resist these...I have the newest 2 sets of Poulis on order...along with the Berliet truck...I'll find someway to squeeze them in here...here are some pics...

I did sneak in a Black Hawk dog and a couple of TG pigeon handlers...but it's mostly JJD...

Fantastic dio, Michael. Love all the activity that is occurring, the wounded, the PoWs, the photographer, the blacksmith, the pigeon handlers, all just great detail. The buildings are a great fit for all the action. The St. Chamond is a very nice model and it will be a nice vignette when John gets the crew out for the 75mm field gun. Superb job, sir. -- Al

Thanks Al...I will move the 75mm on the road with the 3 Poulis pulling/pushing it when John finishes them...I have the generic base for the GWF-032 and GWF-01B already on order with the Berliet and the driver coming too...

Oddly enough, I have the Berliet driver but have not gotten the truck yet. Still on the list, along with 2 Renaults and more 75's.:wink2: -- Al

Beautiful. That Doctor in the red cap looks like he means business :) :salute::

Mike,

You've done another excellent scene. Highly creative too! I love the use of the blacksmith and the guy holding a conversation with him. The photographer is a good addition too!

I like that there is lots of action in the scene and there is much to view. You made great use of the figures to capture the action.

Well done!

Mark

Well thought out Mike, squeezing the diorama to fit the contour of the room. JJD, TG, K&C and Black hawk, you prove they all go so well together not to mention your talented built buildings and terrain works. Fantastic permanent display. Your big problem will be if John keeps producing this excellent line.^&grin, Robin.

Splendid setup, full of interesting little details, each of which could tell a story.I like the guy looking over the fence at the donkey in the yard, probably thinking of his own home far away.Your buildings(home made?) are really well done.Congratulations on your efforts.

Outstanding in every possible way -- groundwork, composition, story telling, plus you managed to incorporate the blacksmith. I think the barn is a "new" building for you, wonderful concept - functional barn plus it is very figure friendly. Very nice indeed!!!

I desperately need an assortment of French civilians, farmers, townspeople, anything along those lines so I can complete my '1914: Off to War' dio. I have the marching troops of different nations and can get the buildings, etc., but I have no one to cheer them off to war and glory. Desperately needed. -- Al

Al...

yes...you get me...that's what I'm talking about...

I know I would be interested in adding French civilians to my French village street scenes shelf dios . . . .

Mike,

I feel your pain, I was agonizing over the same thing last week. Not enough drivers for the wagons and the lack of females is depressing. Under my trading circle thread, the K&C female figure in Post 1 might work out well even in the WWI era. Unsure, if the Mrs. Dickerson from K&C Alamo would work. And if you really get desperate, try the civilian in Post 14 of the trading circle, at least it is a "wave".

Carlo uses the captured "Last of the Mohican" female figures, but mostly their backs or hiding their bound hands.

I would also try K&C Fields of Battle Releases, I just peeked in there, and several figures looked good even for WWI - wheelbarrow guy, maybe mother and daughter and in WWI releases the Nurse (new release) plus maybe the old nurse in the two figure set>
