JJD Poulis...The Hairy Ones... (2 Viewers)

I know I would be interested in adding French civilians to my French village street scenes shelf dios . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Mike...I'm glad you agree...I wish John would make a few to go with the Poulis...civilians...farmers...just idle figures of people watching...

Mike,

I feel your pain, I was agonizing over the same thing last week. Not enough drivers for the wagons and the lack of females is depressing. Under my trading circle thread, the K&C female figure in Post 1 might work out well even in the WWI era. Unsure, if the Mrs. Dickerson from K&C Alamo would work. And if you really get desperate, try the civilian in Post 14 of the trading circle, at least it is a "wave".

Carlo uses the captured "Last of the Mohican" female figures, but mostly their backs or hiding their bound hands.

I would also try K&C Fields of Battle Releases, I just peeked in there, and several figures looked good even for WWI - wheelbarrow guy, maybe mother and daughter and in WWI releases the Nurse (new release) plus maybe the old nurse in the two figure set>

Ken...you're right...I also think the K&C FOB figures could easily pass for WWI civilians...they might be my best bet...

Hi, yes, I would think the FOB civilians would go OK with the Poilu's, although I haven't got any, I have been thinking about getting some. Depends on the scale to be honest, some K&C figures are large compared to JJD figures.

Pete

JMO, but I think you will have to be careful using the FOB civilians in a WW1 dio. The males, such as the farmers, should be fine, but the females and children may not go well because of fashion. Clothing changed a great deal from the 20's on so a bit of photographic study will pay dividends in this regard. -- Al

I picked up the JJD Berliet at the Texas Toy Soldier Show a few weeks ago...

I was also lucky to pick up the retired driver...

here are a few pics...

I moved the St. Charmond and the Pigeon Wagon to take pics...

Love the look of the old time vehicles but I wouldn't want to drive one!
Mark

Those out buildings are great, really like the stable, the figures fit around nicely. Your talents Mike are supberb. Robin.

I got a few figures in today that I can use with my Poulis dio...

I think the K&C FOB figure goes well enough with this era...

also the 2 K&C Poulis are a very close match...

plus the K&C HK series set of small dogs will work with anything...

the dogs look hungry huh...^&grin...?

Agree that he could be French farmer, think he works fine Mike. Great scene. Robin.

big bummer...lol...just saw all my attachments are gone...hope Peter can fix it...

I got a delivery today...

3 JJD Poulis pushing the 75...

and 1 TG Pouli pulling the beast of burden...

here are some pics...

Great photos and figures, Mike. Really like the artillery team man-handling their gun. In addition to the red trouser stripes, it appears JJD has put the crossed gun barrels of the artillery on the gunners helmets. Nice touch. -- Al

If you are looking for the photos in post #31, I don't believe that anyone can see them. They were a part of a very small group of photos posted right before we reinstalled the attachment photo files.

Are you able to view the photos on the rest of the thread (I can)?
