JJD Poulis...The Hairy Ones... (1 Viewer)

Peter...

in my "file upload manager"...
I have tried to upload 3 photos...
that didn't upload...

can you view my "file upload manager to confirm this?

these 3 photos...
are also the photos that don't appear on this thread...

in the "file upload manager"...
an empty box appears with these descriptions...
but no actual photo uploaded...

I also had put these 3 photos in my album..."The Hairy Ones"...

and again...
while the description and empty box uploaded...
also no actual pic uploaded...

I deleted the blank slots in my album...
but can't delete the blank slots in my "file upload manager"...

you said the reason these might not have uploaded correctly because of the time frame I tried to upload them...

the "file upload manager" doesn't give me the option to delete these 3 empty blank slots...
I would like to delete them and try to upload them again...

am I explaining this okay...can you make sense of what I'm asking?

Pics in post 31 are visible for me. -- Al

I suspect that you viewed those images when they were first put up and your computer stored them in your cache. So your computer isn't going to the server to look for them (and finding them gone)...it already has seen them and is saving the download time.

I had a similar thing happen on another thread. I thought it was live, but when I tried to save the image (making my computer go looking for the original) it came up blank.

This makes perfect sense. The file manager remembers that you uploaded the files but it can't find them on the server, thus the blank slots.

Instead of trying to delete them from your file manager, upload the photos once again. You will then have two 'slots' with the same name, one with the photo and one blank. Choose to use the one with the photo. On your album, you will need to delete the blank ones and put them back in again with the actual photo.

I am trying that now...

I renamed the pics so the "file upload manager" might recognize them as new pics...

Peter...

I had tried that already...
it didn't work before...
and it didn't work now...

I get the feeling that the "file upload manager" is recognizing the re-upload as the same picture..and won't allow it...
even though I have renamed the pics...

I am going to try once more...

but this time I will enlarge the photos just a bit and maybe it will sneak through...

These photos were freshly imported from your computer into the file upload manager?

(I can't see your upload manager...sorry!)

re-try with size change...

no....it wouldn't let me upload them...and it won't let me delete them...they have been in there a few days...

Woohoo :) :)

It's Sunday morning...off to do what preachers do on Sunday mornings...

Peter..........{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

re-sizing and renaming the photos allowed me to re-enter them into my "file upload manager"...

I have since uploaded them to this thread and also to my album...

you might suggest the re-sizing/renaming as a procedure to others that have incurred lost photos from uploading them in the time frame where your software swapped over...

thanks for your help...

Bill Gates could use a man like you...
you now have a career in computers to fall back on...
I think you have to have a lot of patience to solve issues like this...

thanks!!!

In my best Beavis/Butthead voice...Uh, what?...I don't speak computer. All I know is the images are there, for whatever reason. Still missing pictures elsewhere, but not those particular ones. -- Al

Who would have thought that when they started this Forum Pete would need to get an advanced degree in computer science {eek3}

Received my set of GWF-51 French Infantry moving the 75mm gun this afternoon. Also received GWA-10 Aussie Stokes Mortar and Crew. Both sets just super nice. The TGM French pulling the Donkey is also a very nicely done set and fits well with JJD figures. JJD WWI just keeps getting better and better . . . . . A few pics to share of how I have the French displayed on my shelf area . . . .
