Got the news today from his daughter, John has passed.

Although myself and others gave him a bit of a hard time over his endless wants lists, deep down he was just an enthusiastic collector at heart who loved his toys as he called them.

Yet another loss in the collecting community, sad news indeed................

Oh no....John was 1 of a kind and danced to his own beat and this is terrible news to hear, I'll miss him and his lists for sure, here's to you John....Ciao for now....Sammy

Sad news indeed. I enjoyed his lists, how everyone piled on him for it and how those comments were like water of a duck's back for him.

RIP John. He was an enthusiastic collector, a little quirky at times, but enthusiastic.

Sad news indeed.Loved to see what he wanted made.

Sad to hear of his passing, I didn't mind his lists, he made some good suggestions.

Yes, he came out with some interesting if not eccentric posts but he was no doubt passionate about toy soldiers. RIP mate.

Sorry to hear about that. It seems we are losing all too many people lately.

Anytime one of ours passes it's a very sad day, I remember John as for a while, being relentless in his "requests" for figures and equipment. After every new announcement, even if it was his favorite North Africa, he would give a new and larger list. It was constant, unrelenting and unapoligetic. If i'm not mistaken the "Suggestion" thread was specifically designed for Johns "enthusiasm".
I suppose he's up there compiling and presenting his lists in Heaven still.:)

That is very sad! I always liked his posts, he knew what he liked and he made sure he got heard. Well, may he now rest in peace!

Sad news indeed to learn of his passing.
R.I.P., John
A very unique member of our little community here.
I always got a smile out of his posts, and like "Go For Broke" said, any criticism abut them just washed off of him ;-)
He never gave up :wink2:
Ciao

Konrad
