John Jenkins and First Legion, TGM and Britain,s Dealers...................... (2 Viewers)

I used to go to TF but 600USD till free postage is just too high in Aussie dollars.
I can relate to this, $600USD currently equates to $1060NZD and that's not peanuts in anyone's book.
To be fair though I can see things from both Wayne's and Julie's perspectives and agree with both if that makes sense, however buying from the US has become very expensive in recent times and simply not an option for me, unless under exceptional circumstances.

Does anybody know of any Dealers outside the US? (Sorry, shipping now is too expensive.) They offer free shipping after a certain amount is spent and possibly a PayPal pay-in-4 option.
With the exchange rate and all the other stuff in the States, it just isn't doable anymore.
Why not try buying direct from JJD in Hong Kong. I did for a while until I found a good local dealer. You need to assess what import costs will be first of course.

Understood and thanks for the response.

I can’t discern from the previous posts, why do you buy from the US and not directly from toy soldier manufacturers in China or other countries?

Is it the free shipping?
There isn't any TS shops in China or Australia that do not charge a heap over the converted USD price.
Free shipping is a big one mate, I have honestly paid easily a third of my collection's price in shipping.
Today I went to the FL website and this isn't a go at FL, 435 USD for the new Elephant, and it was 189 USD dollars shipped, so a total of 624USD which = $1000 Aussie dollars, a week's wages.
TF use to do 400USD free shipping which was doable but not the 600USD they want now, and I also get that from TF.
So yes mate, free shipping is a huge incentive.

Again, I appreciate the response and information.

From an economic standpoint it is amazing that TF has paid the free shipping to Australia even at a $400US price point.

I know how expensive it is to ship from the US. My brother has lived in Australia for the last 15 years and I regularly ship him his favorite American products. Sometimes the shipping is 5x or more than the actual items!

Here I thought I was getting a deal on $12 free shipping from TF to Texas.

The above discussion show that we live in an interdependent world. Business is global. Wayne who lives in Australia buys products from a US company that obtains its product from a company whose products are sculpted in Russia and made in China. We are all connected globally.

We are indeed interconnected, however the globalization of trade has many pros & cons and it could be argued has led to the numerous economic imbalance's many countries now grapple with.

As I mentioned in a previous post, even prior to the tariffs, purchasing TS from the US was prohibitive for me down here in New Zealand (NZ) and has been for many years, with a declining exchange rate and hideously expensive shipping costs being the primary cause. Who else would pay nearly $200nz to get a $50us figure shipped?

I'm not moaning about it, that's life, however like Wayne, at least a third of my budget spend on TS has gone on shipping costs and I can assure you that's
a big chunk of cash I'd rather have spent on TS.

The saving grace for me has been my Aussie mates and until very recently my friend Brett (Dealer) in Brisbane and of course K&C's excellent free shipping option which has been a savior.

Agree - i think people do not realise how this global interdependent has kept us relatively peaceful, just heard on BBC Radio an historian say one of the main things that has kept China from invading Tiawan was the threat of losing the US market for its goods and products. Something Trump has taken away.
