I will be purchasing a Desert one. However, I'm not sure when it will be showing up; sometime later this summer I suppose.

I have a confirmed order for a desert version...It'll be my fourth since Andy started producing them again a few years ago.

Man...that is a beautiful plane. If I could afford a Warbird, that's the one I'd get. I didn't think it was still being produced...and I'd love to see what the desert version looks like.

I suppose there's no chance of this being made in polystone, is there? I know there's a size limitation, but I'm not sure what it is. If not a bomber, I'd love to see a ground attack aircraft like a Stuka or Stormavik.

It is one gorgeous bird. Like the livery a lot. -- Al

The problem with making something like this in polystone is that the nature of the material, without proper support for the wings, makes it likely that they will break off, so I've been told.

You can get around the length of the wing and 'fear' of them dropping off even in polystone by inserting small metal rods through the fusilage to give extra support.

I believe this has been done by some modellers years back when working with this medium. Cannot remember which model mag it was in but, about two or three years I believe.

I am sure that K&C innovation could geta round this problem to release some of these planes in more affordable polystone etc

Perhaps a number of metal rods could be laid within the mould at the casting stage to give the extra support required.

Was Figarti's B-17 Planes Polystone ?

No, they were resin, plastic and metal. The Figarti B-17 was much lighter than a polystone bomber would be.

I have a classic K&C JU88 nightfighter, and it is one of my favorite planes. I am sure these new JU88's will be even more spectacular, with the clear canopies and interior cockpit details.

I believe that at a certain size, polystone is too heavy to try and figure out ways to use it and that other materials are better suited. Even if the wings could be supported on a polystone bomber, Imagine the weight of the plane and how difficult it would be to handle.

Again I call for crashed war bird models similar to the old Hamog and kubel wagon diarama tiles that K&c made some time back. That would get over some of the breakage issues and the aircraft would not have to be whole. Robert Taylor the aviation artist along with others has a great downed HE111 with the crew exiting the escape hatch. How cool would that be.
