We recently created a jungle environment for a client and I thought I might share some images with you. It was a real change of pace for us as we usually create scale models representing temperate climates similar to the one I have lived in most of my life.

I can't imagine how difficult it was for GIs from the Midwest to get used to these hot, wet and foreign environments...

I was able to put a lot of interesting texture into a relatively small space. It was fun building the large trees, palms and vines for this one. I used wood. plastic, wire, paper and epoxy putty for these.

The footprint is about 14" X 20" with both sections pushed together.

I decided to hand paint a backdrop to help extend the diorama and to simulate a humid environment. We professionally copied this to create prints that can be easily shipped.

A last image for now with a quarter in the diorama for a scale reference...

Hope you enjoy...

Ken,

That's remarkable. It gives you the sensation of being there. My compliments.

Just an overall great looking diorama Ken . . . . . . This would be perfect for a Viet Nam display :wink2:

Gee Ken, your jungle is almost identical to the trees and plants that are found around my neck of the woods. I love it, very realistic {bravo}}

Wow thats amazing work Ken! Looks enough like Burma that I think we need some Indian Armor and Gurkhas messing with some Imperial Japanese Army types.
