Hi Guys,

Just want to show you some pix of the latest Junkers ’88 with two versions: Desert and Winter.

We only made 6 pcs of the desert, and 3 pcs of the winter.

All of them are pre-ordered and sold out.

Hope you like them!

Best wishes and happy flying!

Great planes pity they cant be made in the cheaper version for us "Peasents".............:(

Got the shipping confirmation this morning
will be here Monday morning, can't wait.

The only thing that worries me is the fear it may get damaged from Hong kong I have seen some boxes etc treat quite badly by delivery folks.

Can someone let me know how its packaged to allay my fears as I would really like one of the Lancs before they go. I worry when the collector figures come so, I would be a 'basket case' waiting for a three grand lanc!!

Mitch, no worries on the packaging from Hong Kong. I ordered the #2 desert Ju 87 Stuka directly from K&C and it came just fine. It comes in a very large box, they use lots of foam inside to protect the plane - which itself is very sturdy from solid wood. The propellers are usually removed and individually secured/protected. There is plenty of extra foam blocks placed all around the plane too. I would not worry about the shipping. I also have some photos I took of the packaging w/plane when I unwrapped it. If you want to see them, email me: mikeunglesbee@hotmail.com, be happy to send.

Regards,
Mike

Mike...

Thank you for the reply will drop you a line.

Beautiful planes indeed.

I do hope someday that K&C finds a way to make cheaper models, as wayne put it, for "us peasants".

Until then...how does one find out about Warbirds before they are sold out. It felt a little cruel showing these after telling us they were sold out;)

Take a look on the King & Country website (www.kingandcountry.com) . . . click on Product Catalogue, then warbirds, and you will see all the warbirds that are presently available and you can order one if you see one you want. To my recollection, presently available are a Boulton-Paul Defiant, a De Haviland Mosquito, a Brewster Buffalo, a Gloster Gladiator, a Westin Whirlwind, a Hawker Hurricane (desert markings), a Curtis P40 Tomahawk (desert markings), a P51A Mustang (Polish Squadron), a P51B Mustang (Shangri La), and a couple of different Lancasters. They range in price from $795 through $2,900 american dollars.

For those of us who can't afford these or choose not to spent that much, I would suggest considering the Franklin Mint WWII warbirds Approx.$145-189....they are very well done. They are 1:48 scale but work well, especially if space is an issue in regards to larger WWII Planes like the B-17 etc....Just an possible alternative option for the "peasants":D:D

I had posted some photos of Howard Woods' Lancaster a few months ago, which showed how it was packed. Also, they ship FedEx overnight, which manages the risk of damage.

Mitch - here is the packaging used for the Ju 87 stuka north africa version, shipped direct from Hong Kong. They may also use special handling and expedited servce, best to check with sales@K&C for details.

I have heard that Franklin Mint is no longer making aircraft. So the choice is down to 1:32 Corgi (they made only a few aircraft but some are still available) or 1:32 FOV. Hobby Master has only one plane in 1:32 and most versions of it are sold out.

That's too bad.....They make a great product that is affordable...when did this happen? It seems that there are quite a few planes still available for sale on many websites...

Several months ago, Aviation World, the shop I deal with for my airplane collection, mentioned that to me. I had 20 of the Franklin Mint (and Armour - who preceeded Franklin) aircraft I no longer wanted and was wondering how to sell them. That's when I was told that unless they were well known pilots with good paint schemes, there wasn't much of a market. Fortunately, I had made good choices, so they suggested I bring in 10 on consignment. They sold in less than 2 months. I am going to bring in the rest in the Fall for sale.

Aviation world says there are a lot of 1:48 aircraft collectors who are looking to complete collections with the best Franklin models which are hard to find, especially since there won't be anymore.
