K&C and a Universal diorama (1 Viewer)

Anytime Toddy, always welcome. Planning to cross the ditch for a short visit in the not too distant future for a visit to Peter Jackson's installation. Does the Silver Fern still run to Auckland? '75 when I was last there.

The train link between Auckland and Wellington is now called the 'Northern Explorer' and here's a link Bob.

You'll enjoy PJ's big diorama, but you must also visit nearby TePapa to see Weta Workshops Galliopli/WW1 giant figures and displays as well if you can?

This is the start of the dio where the figures are positioned on the universal base with backdrop. The sandwiched styrofoam is visible. Once they are positioned, it is a simple process to cut around the shape of the base with a scalpel. If the plug hole is too deep, the cavity can be packed with soft flock to raise the figure and also protect the paint on the bottom of the base. Other foliage can be added directly to the grass mat and glued in place with PVA or simply left loose to be later altered to suit a new layout. Plug holes can be refilled to suit an alternative layout at a later time.
