K&C British ETO Problems! (1 Viewer)

Al,

I was about to say you have no idea but we all have our own crosses to bear with our own children.

I was reading a book just the other day that someone gave us called Parallel Parenting and it says in there that it's the hardest job in the world. Of that, there is no doubt.

As for a bit of stress relief…when I was Scott’s age we used to have something called…GIRLS.

Adios for now!

Andy C.

Sorry Andy but at the age of 21 girls cause more stress than they relieve!!

Scott[/QUOTE]

Scott, It is good to see that you are an enthusiastic and active collector at the age of only 21. Most of us here are middle aged men 50 - 60 years old. Imagine your collection when you hit 30 ! :salute::

It is good if you can find & enjoy a hobby your whole life...I started collecting TS's in my mid twenties , right about the time K&C began making matte figures...I had some lull's in my collecting , when I met my wife , got married & had my daughter , but the love of the hobby was always there for me twenty some odd years later...The hobby has come along way in that time...
Good to see young collector's in the hobby...

Joe

Maybe you need to find some girls who are historically accurate?

Also, stay away from girls who have the wrong shovel or webbing.

If you're not going to be mature about it, or give something valuable to the discussion then don't post.

With all the sarcasm and shots about things from members (some of whom I've never even came across before) I think some of you forget that I've been collecting for 14 years! And I've been a member of this forum for about 7 so when I post something for a debate or discussion on here its not for all you newbies to jump on the age bandwagon and assume that because I am young my ideas and views are invalid! If this forum was full of young people my age and we took the same approach to older members then there would be some very pi**ed of collectors.

Brad, Rob, uksubs, phantom warrior are all people that I have known over the forum and got to know for years. Over that period of time you get to know people's senses of humour and how to take comments they make as it can be difficult to know how a comment is intended to be taken.

I suggest that some other members take this into account when posting and think about how their comments will appear before they comment with sarcastic remarks. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face then don't say it online!!!

Scott:

I can 100% guarantee that I have never posted anything on this forum that I would not say to someone's face.

Also, I am not a newbie, unless you mean I am newbie in comparison to you considering I joined this forum 5 months after you did. Age did not factor into my post either. So, before you post a retort like this you might consider that you have no idea what the basis of my post was. Furthermore, I have read and enjoyed your posts over the years and your passion for the Arnhem series is truly inspiring. So please accept my sincerest apologies if I have misread you in thinking you would be able to see the joke in my post.

I will continue to post as I see fit while noting that you are sensitive to certain types of humor and/or sarcasm.

Again, apologies if I have offended you in any way.

Regards,
Jason

Hi Guys, hi Scott,

With all due respect my young friend no one has been giving you a hard time…or even being particularly sarcastic!

As for your advice to others that they should “take into account when posting and think about how their comments will appear…” I heartily agree.

Perhaps however you also need to look into the mirror a wee bit closer…I seem to remember more than a few occasions when your own comments have played fast and loose with the sarcasm and your own personal brand of humor.

Anyway, all the best and stay in touch,

Andy C.

Fair play some of my posts last year were a bit out there but it was a difficult year and since that stage I have been a good boy and kept all my toy soldiers where they belong. In my pram? ;)

Back to whats important:

When you going to start on that 1/30th scale horsa glider? =D

I think what Andy said and Scott noted here could apply to many of us. Sometimes it's not always possible to separate the daily stressors we are subject to from life on the Forum.

As an aside, I saw the exchange that Scott and Jason (Panzerace) had last night. I've known Scott since he first came on here and told us about his collection and his Mum (may God rest her soul) and I've known Jason from the discussions we've had in the Baseball and Football threads. Both are good men and men who I'm glad I would call friend if and when we meet up.

And hopefully that is along way off......................^&grin

Very true Brad, sometimes stresses in life do affect what you write here, sometimes it just spills out.

Funny I can finally write this after all these years, now that I'm posting less and not so involved in the hobby anymore!:rolleyes2:
