K&C Collectors Club Figures (1 Viewer)

Did K & C make the wagon too for this special Collector's Club sets or does that come from elsewhere?

Brad:

As far as I know the wagon was not made by K&C. I believe that wagon was actually a piggy bank that someone from K&C got as a promo item from a new bank.

This is my list for new ranges in order of preference\\\
The great philosophers starting with Socrates drinking Hemlock we take a detailed tour through the history of western thought stopping along the way at St Augustine, St Aquinas, Kant, Leibniz, Spniola the British empricists the great Germans Scheopenhauer and Fichte on to Marx foolwed by teh existentialists Nietsche and Kierkegaard and finally end up with Foucaultnad Derrida

The great painters would be my next favorite all the way from Fra Angelica and Giotto through the Renaissance the Pre Rapahaelites and teh Impressionists and finally end up with Damien Hirst

The the great Physicists and mathematicians.

Come on Andy
You must know it will sell.
I can just see it now

Does anyone have a picture of all the different type of KINGS X Collector Club Figures ?? It would be very interesting to see.

Its a wopping $480 per figure at Kings X the two currently available are

Capt Brittles (John Wayne)
Sgt Quincannon (Victor McLaglen)

I have one on the way and will take a few shots of it when it arrives. I just

had to have the classic Duke Figure!

Njja:eek:

480 :eek::eek: Is that the most expensive single K&C figure ever???? Saw some of the earlier sets with 3 figures go for around a thousand but that would make these figures the most expensive..is that right?

Maybe - I am reading this wrong ??

But, isn't it - If You SPEND $475.00 on K&C Products At Kings X ... You Get A Collector Club Figure - right - or at least can buy one ?

Yes lets clarify figures are free......just not for sale.

You must join Collectors Club......which is strange since I am in K&C Collector's Club which owns Kings X.......but what ever.

Originally it was $450 now for each $480 not $475 you spend you receive one figure. Of course you also receive the items you have purchased.

They will keep a running total of your purchases, so when you reach the next $480 you can obtain the next figure.

Since you cannot purchase the figure, you could say it costs $480, hey I don't make the rules.......but I did like the movie, and am a fan of both John Wayne & Victor McLaglen.......probably the only time you will find one of his characters in model form!

Njja

Yes, it is spend $480, then you become member of the club and get the first figure. Not sure on second yet if you can buy outright or if you get it after you spend the next $480. I think you can start purchasing the others just like the HK Club once you are a member.

Tom

Tom:

As of my last call, its a running total.....1st $480 1st figure, 2nd $480 in total sales, 2nd figure. Lets just hope there aren't to many figures in this
shall we say Platinum Series.

P.S. Wayne wasn't even that great an actor anyway.

Brad:

He perhaps wasn't the greatest actor, but for pure enjoyment "The Quiet Man", "The Shootest", and "The Searchers" were three of the finest films
I have ever had the pleasure of seeing.

He also like Steve Mcqueen, tried to give the public what they came to see in each of his films. They were both men of action, that left the tears to the ladies.

Brad's right and your right both great actors that never acted, they were just themselves, both bigger than life.

Brad,

Those would have been fightn' words in the house I grew up in!!!!:eek::p

Nothing beats the Duke in Big Jake........"DOG..........", "You can call me Father, you can call me Jake... but if you ever call me Daddy again.........

Another classic!

I think the Searchers was one of the best westerns made,up there with Tombstone. The Duke wasn't the greatest actor of all time but gave millions of people enjoyment with his movies.THREE CHEERS FOR THE DUKE.:D:D:D

The Quiet Man and True Grit are some of my favorite movies of all time. I loved the Duke!

I have to agree with Brad, spending $480 to obtain one figure is pretty excessive in the old resources department. You have to give King's X credit though, what a great marketing tool to push sales. This may be the adult equivalent to redeeming your skeeball tickets.

I must be missing something. I have copied the Club Membership information from K&C's web site below. As I read it, you pay your membership dues ($38 1 yr, $70 2 yrs.) and you get several benefits one of which is a free figure. Plus additional club figures can be purchased for $23. I guess I am confused with the $480 sum that is being discussed. Please help me to understand.

That's the K&C Collector's club membeship information. The John Wayne & Victor McLaughlin figures are from the Kings X Collectors club, which, while Kings X is owned by K&C, is a different club entirely.

Ok now that makes sense - thanks Louis. I must say $480 for a figure does seem a bit expensive. But then I also collect John Jenkins figures and some of those sets have been selling recently for a bunch of $$$ also.

Mike

I think you have to look at this as though if you want the figure, plan $480 of your K&C budget at Kings X, that would then garner a figure for ya! So the figure is in a sense free, just not the other goods you purchased!
