K&C July Dispatches (1 Viewer)

So apart from Ron (who i'm thinking knows just what he's getting!;))what are you other guys going for?.I want the Bedford (thanks for making this Andy)also the Gort Figure and the RAF guy.I am also really tempted by the Naval figures as well.

Rob

I have to agree with Rob, those new FOB look great and I'm glad to see new Allied arrivals to this series.

Take Care

Ok guys someone had to ask this!.Can the new Bedford be used in any other theatre of WW2?.This like the Opel Blitz will look so good in multiples.

Rob

Did everyone notice that the new price for all the new foot Old Guard figures is $32.00 each.

My monthy toy soldier budget is buying fewer and fewer figures.

King's Man

The Crusader tank is a must-have. Think I'll wait for the Bedford to be repainted as an EA version though.
As suspected, Missus Heid went absolutely berserk when I turned up at home 3 weeks ago with a new suitcase crammed to the limit with new TS boxes. It took 5 days of a distinctly ARTIC atmosphere before she kinda calmed down. Then she found the airline receipt for US$500 to cover the overweight luggage.....Ulp.....:(:(. And I ask you, this was after me buying her the SOHK and IC sets she wanted (and the duty-free cosmetics).... It's all academic anyway, cos the Crusader AND the Scots Tank Riders will be obtained next time I travel through HK in around 4 weeks from now. The wrath of a woman reduced to living in a tent will just have to be endured...!!!

Cheers
Hen-Pecked Heid

The Polizei ADGZ Armoured Car looks an interesting piece.

Originally developed as a heavy armored car for the Austrian army, the Germans used them for police work and some were taken on by the SS and used on the Eastern front and in the Balkans.

An interesting feature of this vehicle was that there was no "rear", either end was capable of driving the unit.

I felt that there should have include figures like 2 drivers, at the rear and the front, just like my attached pic. After all, not many WW2 vehicles have this feature.

and with no figures, its hard to gauge whether the scale of the Car is about right.

good photo's, Looks bigger than I thought in the photo's. Nice though to have a piece with all the hatches closed as a contrast to having someone stick their head out of every hatch. Nice to have a mix of the two styles:)

Re: Dispatches have arrived!

Finally a month where nothing really shouts out at me and says "must have now". If I were a NAP collector I probably would be drueling but for now I think its finally a chance to play a little catchup.

Thanks for the info and pics Nasir. Excellent!

I have been thinking that we needed some closed vehicles. This is an interesting vehicle to do. I was thinking more about tanks , but any port in the storm huh? Closing up vehicles is a great way to give new life to screwed up pieces.

If the car is not to expensive perhaps a few repaints as Infantry support.

Same here, I am glad too:D However, August will be here before you know it!!

I think some of the new FoB are quite neat, particularly the airman and Lord Gort. I will probably getting those two right away as I can use the airman with the Warbirds. I also like the Navy figures, which should go well with the original Navy figure (now retired I think). Great additions to a great series.

Ron & Brad,

I certainly agree about the airman. There were a lot of must haves in this dispatch. Luckily, I have an understanding dealer friend who lets me make an Order to be paid and delivered over time. I pre-ordered the Austin K2 and stretcher team for immediate delivery upon availability, the Crusader Tank & Tank Riders for August, the Bedford Lorry, Airman and the Napoleonic SL set for September.

Not all at the same time ??

Aren't LAWYERS making more than LOBBYISTS these days :p

I don't know Ron but the two lawyers here (me and Louis) haven't traveled to France like one lobbyist has ;) so I guess the answer must be no:eek:

As I recall Ron, your children are all grown up. I am in the midst of all the wonderfull childhood expenses, like my son's nursury school - which costs what my college tuition used to be!

Nothing like haveing the kids grown, , house paid for, and being retired. Only worry, will Andy make more desert Italians, oh wait a minute, that,s someone elses worry.
I,m doing fine then!
Gary

Thats great. I'm a young father and I'm dreading to see what college costs are when my kids are old enough to go. As far as retirement goes I will be eligible when I'm 46, but something tells me I'll be staying a little while longer to pay for their educations.

Nobody in my profession retires. Appellate attorneys usually take 20 years of practice just to reach the point where they are considered experienced, and then, once their names and faces are known and respected by the Appellate Judges, they practice until they drop, basically. Its pretty much the same thing with trial attorneys. All the top ones are 60+.
