Re: K&C Rebels

Hi Guys,

Just had to write to congratulate “UK Reb” on his great looking diorama… outstanding!

Many years ago someone at one of the toy soldier shows asked me “What was I trying to do with our K&C figures?” My reply was simple and straight forward… “I want our toy soldiers to tell a story…” For several years afterwards that was our advertising slogan/tagline… “Toy Soldiers that tell a Story.” And, actually, it hasn’t really changed. That is definitely a big part of the K&C philosophy. We like to produce figures that “talk to each other” and communicate events, feelings and emotions in often dramatic and exciting ways… albeit in 1:30 scale!

Anyway, very well done UK Reb… I’d love to see more of your work and, I am sure, so would many other Treefroggers.

Best wishes and Happy Collecting!
Andy C.

Any hope for more Reb cavalry like these in the future?

Fantastic Dio Reb......love the pic's mate, thanks so much for sharing.;)

Cheers Toddy

The lighting for the photos is really excellent, how do you accomplish that?

I sure wish those two casualty figures had been sold individually rather than with accompanying figure and horse. The sets with those figures are high on my 'what to buy next' list but it's a bummer that I'll be paying $200 just to get the 2 figures I want. :(

Agreed, it is a fantastic new series... but please do tell, who is the Mat manufacturer in those fantastic dios?

You know I really don't know this line very well Bob but didn't some of these K&C Rebs come with patches?

You win the kewpie doll-very well spotted and yes they did have patches and splits in their jackets and pants which raised a whole hoo-hah on here about the lack of authenticity of torn or ragged K&C Reb uniforms.

I have to admit that hoo-hah did not particular phase me too much as I thought that the figures as a whole looked pretty good especially in a dio scenario and even a lay-man looking at them would be able to ascertain that they were Confederate toy soldiers and not the Black Watch-so what the hell?

However, if one wanted multiples of these Rebs the patches/splits could become a problem as the "clown" type patches in particular were very prominent on most of the figures. Subsequently, when I took delivery of my guys I just quietly filled in the tears in the pants and painted over the patches and blended them back into the original colors.

So Billy boy you take the prize because only you spotted the missing patches and wholesome pants on my troopers :D

Reb
