K&C style. (1 Viewer)

What continues to amaze me is just the plain simple facts. The brand King & Country is an Industry leader, has been in existence since 1984 and if you look at the product line from the early days till now one can clearly see there have been vast changes and improvements to the vehicle and figure product line. The K&C style is preferred by an overwhelming majority of the collector base . Based on that the brand is attacked more than anyone else too ! Why must that be ?
If it is not for you, go elsewhere plain and simple. I do not know of any King&Country "Children" here on this forum. Correct me if I am wrong but most of us are middle aged adults who obviously have some sort of extra income to spend on the Hobby. Most of us are probably in the 45 Y/O to 65 Y/O age group. Yes my own collection of WWII Vehicles and figures is 99% K&C due to my own personal preference since being in the hobby since 2007. That is "My" preference as is
for so many others, so why do we endure the name calling and immature behavior that goes on ? This is a "Niche" hobby and it would be much more productive for us all to band "Together" as members of this Hobby.

If the K&C style is not for you.......................Leave us alone and let the rest of us enjoy it as we so whole heartedly Do ! :salute::

. Just caught up on this thread and I don't see much name calling as you mentioned Wayne, I read it as different people with different opinions on K&C, being this is a open forum with rules, everyone has that right to like or dislike a product, just because its K&C section doesn't make them immune to critique just as any other manufacturer section, adios for now amigo...Sammy

Yrs
cheer for taking the time to post the photos

as a long time kc collector of 19 years i have accumulated quite a few kc tanks and vehicles. I have always had the urge to buy the kursk tiger but always back off . Not because of the tracks but because of the paint job on the wheels. This just doesn't match the rest of the tank and is very plain. I have always collected kc tanks and vehicles because of the variety and scope they offer. As for the figures, they are the best but unfortunately climbed outside my price range. So like a few others i now just buy select kc vehicles and figuresand have turned my collecting jj airplanes and finding old trophy figures.

That is 100% correct, different people have different opinions. For right now the majority of collectors favors this brand over the others for their own reasons. It is just some people can not accept that fact and continue on with the daily barrage of hurling negativity our way. As far as name calling, when you have a FL enthusiast jump in on one of my K&C Dio threads as was the case the other day solely for the purpose of slander and call me a name which I will not repeat here, Yes that is a perfect example of name calling.

See you all on the 4th for K&C "new product" Dispatches :salute::

Perhaps it is as much a question of the difference between what is a 'reality' and what is an 'opinion'. It doesn't help, though, to be characterised as a child for holding a different opinion. The view that there is a reality that only a few are intelligent or brave enough to recognise may not be the intent of some posts but that is the way they can read. This is exacerbated but the suggestion that the Forum is not a safe place to criticise a model but an entirely appropriate one to criticise those who like it. I have no knowledge of the sponsorship issue or whether it informs what has been said but what else is a child to think?

image.jpgWould be interesting to compare Figarti Panther next to KC last Normandy Panther which I thought was very good .the KC panther is $30.00 cheaper than the figarti version

I think the K&C collector community is a quite happy group that regularly shares their enthusiasm for the product and the hobby. Many threads posted about products and numerous collectors "Proudly"
showing off their collections here through Dio scenes or simple pics from the curio shelf to share with others here on the forum. We stay busy enjoying what we have and take the time when possible to
exchange scenes amongst each other. We spend our Hobby time enjoying it and not putting down other brands or looking ways to find fault with them. But, make an obnoxious comment about ME or what I like and
9 times out of 10 you will get one right back, but why do we really need to go through this ???? On and On Month after month. Once we can master respecting each others preferences we can become a much
better group of adults in this Niche Hobby that we are so passionate about :wink2:

Hi guy's this is not I hope going to be a bad thread but K&C has it's own style and I really like the soldiers but the AFV have to lift there game a bit. The other makers are doing some really great things with there AFV's so do you think the toy soldier leader will improve with it's tanks. K&C seem to move to improve to meet it's competitors so how do you think they can improve on there AFV's . I think the tracks are first on the hit list for improvement . What do you guy's think. Chris.{sm4}

Can we keep the thread on topic please :rolleyes2:

We have people running off apparently sulking on other threads, others claiming insults thrown, what did I miss??!! {eek3}

Lets get back to the subject of K&C armour, what if anything you want done or what you'd like made in future?.

Rob,
Comments by Tom, Todd and myself were in response to comments that were subsequently edited out and hence the deletions.

Great idea Neil, I know you've wanted one of these for some while and I too think it would be a great addition. I know you no longer buy K&C armour but do you have any that you mix with Figarti?? I think size wise they go fine but are a different shade of green, both of which I like very much actually:smile2:

Good question.

Right now I'm very happy mate because my WW1 and WW2 collections are totally split.

WW1 is purely Britain's, Toy Army Workshop, John Jenkins. I will be buying First Legion's Jerries when released (just fantastic figures)and if K&C make more Brits those too.

WW2 is K&C/ Figarti / TG.

WW1 was always my first historical ' love' Neil following a school trip. All those classic wartime movies on tv in the seventies along with Commando comics and plastic soldiers got me into WW2.

So totally hooked on both conflicts and well served by all those companies. I think it keeps things interesting to have different suppliers for different eras Neil.

Oh and I know this may not be of interest but I'm also going to build a Hornby railway in my garage set on the Home Front WW2!

Obsessed, me, never!!!^&grin:wink2:

We know we all have to tread lightly ........So we must be smooth here and talk about reality else ware.

Again collect what you want, but look elsewhere and you might change your mind.

Changing minds is possible if you bring out the raw and truthful facts.

Alex, you have inspired me to repaint, ultra weather, add extra stowage to most of my current purchases, including K/C. Nothing is sacred anymore, once I pull it from the box. But I have collected others' stuff and they tend to lack in relative proper size ,even within their own lines, tend to break more easily, have bad decal detail, with poorer or no figures with the vehicles. Maybe the K/C way is that they are safer and more stable to buy from. Easier to deal with as to returns, exchanges, fixes..( thanks to an outstanding dealer network ) So, I have looked elsewhere and most others have been found wanting. Maybe that is why the K/C way and style remains more than just a cottage industry for some brands..IMO Michael
