At the request of Amund, Glossman, DM101, Mitch to have more Panzers side by side as well as more to the later 1:30 scale, here are the pics for Panzer post WS1xx era.

First the commanders. Panzer IV (WS219), Panzer III (WS134), Panther (WS176), Tiger I (WS151).

Here are the frontal views

First Pic: Tiger I, Panzer IV, Panther
Second Pic: Panzer III, Panzer IV, Panzer I

I leave it to you all to judge the colors. Remember when commenting to point out both positives and negatives. Please try to avoid one sided viewpoints.

The new Panzer IV does have a deeper vivid camo color which is very impressive. But, this is NOT to say the rest are bad at all. Only when you place them side by side does it seem to show up. I think it is the base yellow that sets the basis for this contrast. This Tiger I actually has quite a vivid coloration as well.

Great shots mate, the crew figures look great to me.
These 3 look brilliant together you can see the difference but no big deal IMO.
Thanks for posting Chris.

Here are the side profiles:

Panzer I versus Panzer IV
Panzer III versus Panzer IV
Panzer IV versus Panther
Panzer IV versus Tiger I

At this stage, the Panzer II was not used for this shoot as the only one available is AK. And the latest King Tiger available is BBG, the previous WS being 1:32 like.

Photos are taken with D800, 85mm F1.4 on tripod (aperture priority) and subsequently cropped. Resolution dropped significantly due to limitations of uploading pics.

Finally, please note that these are not diorama shots. Unfortunately, our homes here are smaller here, sometimes, we do not have the luxury of a separate room for the nice stuff that some of you folks can enjoy. Getting a room to store these stuff is already quite a challenge.

Enjoy!

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks very much for taking the time and effort to photograph your tanks. I like the non-diorama display shots. It keeps my eyes on just the tanks, tanks, tanks.....

This is most impressive. If you keep posting shots like these, I may be inspired enough to add a tank to my collection.

Best, Raymond.:)

Great photos Chris.

Photos like this are useful for collectors to make their own comparisons and particularly helpful in relation to colour and size.

Thanks for posting. It was not the colour way that was of interest to me as I would not like to see all camo panzers the same as it would be unrealistic and, I actually prefer these darker tones that K&C are using on this Panzer IV and the latest armoured cars. For me, it was seeing it next to some of the newer 1/30th AFV's which you have done.

Simply fantastic AXIS BEASTS :salute::

Thanks Chris for posting these shots to compare the tanks. I definitely prefer the Panzer IV coloring to the older models. The darker look on the colors, especially the panzer yellow, to me is what makes the difference.

Thanks for posting these Panzer comparison pics. The Panzer IV again looks great. Some mention was made of comparing the camo patterns between all of the vehicles but I don't see how that would be an issue. man I like the Panzer IV. :salute::

Hi PA1944,

Nope, there is no issue at all with the patterns which reflect correctly different pattern schemes at different times. It is just a straight side by side photo shoot. Seems that I may have not put the words down correctly somewhere in my post. Not saying anything wrong with any color scheme or pattern at all.

This new Panzer IV which is the workhorse tank certainly looks very good. Would have love one with side skirts also.

And I guess posting this is better than whining about dispatches {sm4}.
