King and Country Glossy (2 Viewers)

What do you think the most expensive KC glossy piece is Louis or jazzeum.

It kind of depends on what you mean by piece. I would probably use the term set. I'm sure the Chess Set was not cheap and I've seen the Beatles set go for around $1,000, as well as the WS 04 Tank Commanders set. Usually, the presentation boxes that contain many figures (I just acquired one) can be expensive. I remember a Seaforth Highlanders set that was on ebay a little more than a year ago going for around $1,500 so maybe that's the most expensive that I know of.

I'm sure Louis or Larry may be able to offer better information in this regard.

My most expensive piece would have to be WS001. Saw one of those go for about $1,100.

But if it doesn't come with original box than that’s another story. Mine would have to be mint in original box. I had it in the box for years. So it doesn't have any scratches on it. Better off being like that. I'm probably going to sell it on Christmas a couple of years from now.

I think it was Jazzeum that has the really old glossy figures of the d-day paratroopers. How old are they and what number set are they. Never seen them before.

What is the rarest of all the glossy K&C figures?

Well, only 100 of the Waterloo Chess Set were ever made, and, as it retailed for $512 U.S. in 1991, it would probably command quite a bit today.

The original presentation-boxed large sets, such as the Last Stand of the Seaforths, the Marching Bahamas Police Band and Police, the various Cavalry Patrol sets, and the Horse Artillery Gun Team are both large (35 infantry or 12 Cavalry figures per set) and extremely rare so command enormous prices north of 1,000.

There is a Gulf War Commemorative set of U.S. Marines that was limited to 200 sets that I have never seen for sale on e-bay that would have to command quite a bit.

But for my money, the two early WWII U.S. paratroop sets (USP1 and USP2), the U.S. Military Policeman (USMP), as well as the extremely rare Free French Marines and Foreign Legion sets (FF1 and FF2) are probably the most expensive glossy sets, because of the popularity of WWII and the extreme rarity of the figures, especially the Free French, which simply did not sell back in 1993 when they were released.

Here are photos from Louis' collection of the Free French and the glossy 82nd Paras. If you'd like to see more photos of what is a one of a kind collection, please see the Badolato Collection thread.

That’s pretty neat stuff. I've seen his collection at Sagers site. I think Louis has the rarest collection in the world. I like the eight army lumber car that is towing the 25lber.

Does Louis have any of the Prussians in the old Napoleonic series with the skulls on there hats.

Yes, I have one of the Prussian Hussars (Brunswickers) with the deathhead badge on his busby.

If you look at the Badolato Collection thread or go through some of the early brochures on Bill Sager's site you should be able to find them.

I see the really old WW1 pilot figures on ebay right now. Just to let you know.

Thats ok Louis I'm not in that praticular area in the first place.

Andy has made a number of one of a kind pieces, mostly vehicles, as well as one off figures (re-paints of existing castings).

The rarest production set is the matt version of the original Panzer Crew set, WS04 (probably no more than 30 sets made).
