King and Country Miniatures/ Never a dissapoinment. (1 Viewer)

I have only been in This hobby, For just Over a Year. And Has Bought more than My fair share Of Figures and Tanks. And for most every bit of that moment Has been filled with Joy and Awe with the the pieces I have, Whenever I look at each one, pretty much every single one (except for a few times, with other manufacturers) has Given Me Fulfilment And Happiness, at this great hobby Of Mine (Ours).
I have bought from Different Manufacturers, And Now I have to share my opinion, Of who is the best one Out there.
And it has to be King and Country, Every single piece That I have gotten from them, there has Not been any dissapointment:
No repainting.so that It will have depth (every single piece, there are no clashes with Other colors there is always a separation from each color, Which with another maker, I had to do a bit of retouching to do), always a "clean figures" is What I have With K&C miniatures.
No regluing pieces that broke off, from the shipping to me, or me just holding it (which is frustrating). When I touch/handle any K&C product, I know nothing will break off.
And Just because I had the opportunity to meet him, The Best Owner/ Manufacturer(because he does listen to our needs and wants in this hobby)/ Big avid Collector like Us/ And Approachable, and has that excitement in his voice when he talks about what to expect in this great hobby of ours(And if you ever met him, Its like looking at a kid (much like us), excited at the new toy That we are going to have, while talking about it. And all the endless possibilities to have).
So With King and Country, and With Andy At the helm. With the pieces we do buy, it Is really never a dissapointment. IMHO.

Dear "Spartan71":

I have been collecting & displaying 1:32 and 1:30 scale metal miniatures since the end of 1991. I got my first K&C sets in early 1993. By 1999 I became a devoted King & Country collector. Except for very rare minor issues you can not go wrong with getting K&C sets. Since about 2003 the detailing on the figures has been really splendid! Good luck with your future K&C purchases!

Best regards, "Iron Brigade"

I think K&C is number 1 in terms of the number of ranges available plus it gives you the opportunity to buy quality figures at an affordable price.

However, after having bought for close than 10000$ of K&C toy soldiers, I've stopped collecting this manufacturer since another one caught my eyes and I must say that K&C is now second in my heart. I won't disclose the name since I do not want to ignite a bad fire here but I must say that K&C is not the leader in terms of quality or innovation for matt toy soldiers offering these days. And this is in my humble opinion. I'm not bashing K&C at all since I do appreciate a lot my K&C collection but I must say that I'm now aiming more for connaisseurs style figures...

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I think your post is a reasonable and honest viewpoint, which I appreciate as a collector.

You have expressed a personal opinion with some good points.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

agreed.

measured tone and factual.

anyway, what do you do to your K&C collection?

do you box them, or display them in a different area etc?

Well you can find their products at http://www.jansenfurniture.com/home/

They do have a showroom in Beamsville Ontario. Now since I'm one of their dealer, it was easy to buy a huge lot at a nice price and I kept some of it for myself. Jansen has now a 25% sale on most of their furnitures.

I do like a lot this system since it will allow me to make nice dioramas contained in boxes, exactly like what H&A are producing right now (awesome stuff).

Cheers

Alex

Disclosure : I'm affiliated with Jansenfurniture but in no way this is a 'plug' for their products. I must say that you can find also a lot of barrister bookcases online, in antique shops or at auctions. Actually it's my wife who's more involved into home design/furniture business.

Wow, Iron Brigade, we have a lot in common with regard to this hobby! I got my overall start collecting and my start with K&C around the same time you did, and dedicated myself almost exclusively to K&C collecting in around 1997 . . . looks like we have very similar tastes in toy soldiers!;)

I think I know which manufacturer you are talking about. And yes they do have some great looking Figures. And almost got their Stug myself. But they do not have any dealers. Just got to order from the Company. Which turned me off. Just because of one main reason, if anything is wrong with the item. My main dealer, will get it to me within two days. Not feel like its coming from a slow boat from China through the Manufacturer. And it gets resolved in Two weeks instead of days.
And you might say I am missing quite a lot. which is true, But they are also are missing the hundreds of dollars that I and possibly others, that could have been spent on them.

I hear you Spartan,

I must say however that in my case, the company was able to send me free replacements for 3 damaged figures in less than a week. I actually went on friday at my delivery address in NY state, checked the 24 figures I've ordered on saturday, sent an email about the damages the same day, got a reply on sunday. Monday morning replacements were sent to my address in Canada and were received in the middle of the week without me paying 0$ and not having to drive back to NY state and not having to ship back the originals.
I must say
I was so please with the experience that I would not hesitate 1 second to place many more orders.

Cheers,

Alex

Dear Louis:

Thank you for your nice reply back to my posting to "Spartan71" who started this "tread". As far as K&C having the most realistic & most detailed figures and other items around. I really think that since 2003 their figures are at least comparible to say the Russian made figures made for the St. Petersburg Collection dealership in VA, USA. If the Russian made figures noted just above are better than K&C figures it is not by much in my opinion. Also, the Russian made figures and certain other museum quality figures are a lot more expensive. K&C sets in the last few years have gotten expensive enough & I do not need to spend still more for only a very little more detailed figure than the more current K&C ones. But of course everyone should buy what they want. Plus, one does not have to just go 100% with just one manufacturer.

I hope to post some photos of my more current K&C dioramas in the next few months after I get a new computer that should be better able to upload the photos to the Forum.

Best regards, Gary / "Iron Brigade"

I still think K&C remain excellent value for money. A very good product at a errrrr reasonable :(;) price. Anything better than K&C comes at quite a price premium for what amounts to a marginal improvement in quality at best imho.

An example of excellent service "directly from the manufacturer".......It has been my experience with various items that most times dealing directly with the manufacturer of a product yields the best results in regards to damage or defects......It is their baby and their reputation on the line so they "take care of their customers"... many times some dealers will balk at replacing damaged goods, or make it difficult for consumers.

Ive dealt with many a dealer in the US and here and never had a "Balk"on damage replacements never..............
The only time Balking starts is on Ebay but thats the chance you take.

Well Wayne I have... and just recently as a matter of fact...need I say more....Again thanks to the manufacturer themselves and their US distributor the issue is being resolved
