KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- December 2019 (1 Viewer)

Great to see the Gran Sasso Fallschirmjager. I’ll be picking up a few of those.

Would still like to see the Fallschirmjager with helmet decals, but excellent figures.

D. ‘GI WINTER WARRIORS’
Holding their own against the German onslaught in the Ardennes in December 1944 are there 3 x Three-Man Sets of fighting GI’s...

BBA088 “Winter Rifle Section”
This 3-man section is carrying probably the finest infantry rifle of WW2... The M1 ‘Garand’ , the .30-06 calibre, semi automatic weapon that was the standard US Army service rifle of WW2.
This weapon was so good that it also saw service in Korea (1950-53) and even limited service during the early part of the Vietnam War with the South Vietnamese Army.
When the rest of the WW2 participants were using bolt-action rifles the GI’s had the advantage of being able to fire off an eight round clip in quick succession without having to move their hands on the rifle and disrupt their firing position and point-of-aim.
The M1 ‘Garand’ was also designed for simple assembly and disassembly and could be ‘field-stripped’ in just a few seconds.
Strong, sturdy and reliable it was the GI’s best friend in all weathers and conditions.

BBA089 “Winter Machine Gun Group”
The M1919 Browning .30 calibre machine gun was widely used in WW2 and was the main company support weapon for GI’s in combat.
The gun required at least 2 men to operate and carry it, one to fire the gun, the other to ‘feed’ the gun. One or two ammunition carriers would also join the team.
Our K&C set shows the machine gun in action joined by a squad NCO shouting instructions and carrying a ‘Tommy-Gun’.

BBA090 “Winter Bazooka Team”
The ‘Bazooka’ is the common name for a man-portable, recoilless anti tank rocket launcher weapon. Developed and widely used by the US Army in WW2, the ‘Bazooka’ was among the first generation of rocket-propelled anti tank projectiles used in infantry combat.
Our ‘Bazooka’ GI is protected by two of his buddies, one carrying the B.A.R . , the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle the squad support weapon throughout WW2 and beyond.
The other GI is aiming his always reliable M1 ‘Garand’.
All of these nine GI ‘winter warriors’ make great additions to our pre released M36 ‘Jackson’ tank destroyer in ‘winter’ camo.

south viets complained they were "to heavy"

E. “FALLSCHIRMJAGER REINFORCEMENTS”
Following the success of the special “Mussolini Rescue” set... We’re bringing out 4 x additional German airborne soldiers to help protect ‘Il Duce’.

LW069 “Fallschirmjager Squad Leader”
This well-armed staff sergeant carries his MP040 Schmeisser machine pistol as well as a P38 side arm and a pair of ‘potato masher’ handgrenades.

LW070 “FJ MG42 Machine Gunner”
The MG42 was the principle German machine gun during the latter half of WW2.
Our paratrooper carries the gun with the bipod folded in one hand and an ammo box of 7.92 x 57mm Mauser belted ammunition in the other.
Most gunners also carried the P38 pistol for personal protection.

LW071 “FJ Field Radio Operator”
Good communications on the battlefield is vitally important. This paratrooper, while still on the move, listens in to some instructions. He is also armed with the Karabiner 98k rifle.

LW072 “FJ Rifleman”
A new-sculpt of an old favourite... Standing Fallschirmjager also with the Kar98k rifle.

AVAILABLE: Mid December[/QUOTE

Wonderful to see further releases for this series, they fit so well together!

Lets hope there is a few more to come. ^&grin

That’s a quick $1000 Aussie dollars there in those 10 figures these days, with the exchange rate 68c and 10% GST ( goods and services tax). Yikes. Robin.

Although I can't say I'm pleased with current prices for toy soldiers in the US, you've provided a good reminder how difficult it can be to collect where exchange rates are less favorable and additional taxes are levied.

And for me its the Space Problem. I dont have 6 inches square available.
and i just dont know what to do next.
i would like to collect more but its just right impossible for me.

Serge

I had a look through the dispatches for the last few months, in what I collect, WW2, Naps and MK, there is a lot of repaints. Specially in the WWS stuff, the 2 'new' Battle of the Bulge vehicles are both repaints, a lot of the new Germans are and all of the Americans are also repaints. The new FJ Paras look to be as well.

Is this the way things are going? there are a lot of vehicles I would like to see repainted for different theatres.

Overall we still produce more brand-new figures and vehicles than ‘repaints’...And I also think a fairer description is ‘alternative versions’...which many companies, including K&C, have always done from our earliest days.
Best Christmas wishes,
Andy.

Just watched the videos, that have been uploaded to youtube of the London show yesterday. Unfortunately the cameraman didn't linger on the sculpts of Roman Emperors. So Andy, who will they be ?

Also is that two sets of ANZAC special forces or is one of them the second part of Battle of Long Tan ?

Steve

Thanks for the clarification, agree and bow to your far better description of 'alternative versions'. Not a critism, it was just an observation, as there has been a growth of them over the last 12 months or so, plus the 2 vehicles this year in one of the main theartes i collect, the Battle of the Bulge, are both alternative versions. I have the M36 and this is a great addition to my collection. I have both versions of the Morris CS9 Armoured Car from the FOB range and they look great. My favourite multiple version of a vehicle is the German Grey Pz.Kpfw.38T Panzer, numbers 201, 202 and 204. I have them all in a dio 'at rest' infront of the K & C church. Would like to see more of this, same tank but with multiple markings/numbers to create a tank unit. Would love to see alternative versions of the following, but know you are always inundated with suggestions.

Bergepanther - winter.
Sherman Firefly - Tiger Killer. Ekins Firefly
Sherman Firefly captured and in German markings
Desert 2llb gun into a Field of Battle version
Anti aircraft Bren - Field of Battle version
DD Dead and wounded GIs - BotB Dead and Wounded

Great to see you support the London show on Saturday and the dio-boards were excellent, but the star of the show was the Glider.

Hope you had a good journey back.

Hi Steve,
Among the many items on display at the London Show last Saturday were:
1x set of four Anzac SAS and...
2nd. Set of four ‘Long Tan’ soldiers in action.
Plus all our new fighting Israelis!
re the Roman Generals and Emperors...more info when I get back to HK.
all the best,
Andy.

Thanks Wayne for capturing that scene, now added to my photo section for scrutiny. Robin.

I'm just hoping one of the SASR blokes isn't wearing just a sweatband on his noggin like RAMBO !!!!!!!

Thanks Wayne for "capturing" that image from the video.

Can anybody who was at the show let us know who the couple are at front left of image ? Napoleonic or perhaps a bit later in 1800's.

They look good but the Roman command group look brilliant a must have.

Space is definitely getting to be an issue with me... I like displaying my K&C armor, aircraft, and figures (as well as those from other manufacturers) in small dioramas as I haven’t gone for the crowded shelf display quite yet. However, I’m starting to run out of display room unless I build more places to display things!
