King&Country JadgTiger Released...Any Takers ? (1 Viewer)

I'll pass. Too much money for me for one tank. Still trying to catch up on other things.

Hi, In reply to the retail price question it sells in the U.S. for $289.00 . The way I see it a current King Tiger sells for $239.00 while the Winter Tiger is at $229.00 .
The extra $50.00 for the much larger JadgTiger limited to 750 made is in my personal opinion within a fair price range given the additional amount of weight and material used to
create this model. I'm still ordering mine this week as opposed to waiting until they are sold out and wanting it at a later time.
The secondary market price will probably hit near $350.00 easy next year when these are all gone at the dealer level.I think the key rule of thumb to buying this one may be ordering from
a dealer out of state to avoid paying sales tax and buying one where free shipping is offered ! ^&grin

The Prices on these Polystone Tanks/Armor/Vehicles are getting Out-of-Hand! I think the Chinese Manufacture's are Bullying up the Prices! I feel that the Price of Armor(Polystone) should be around $110.00? The Vehicles around $75.00-80.00US? This Economy has Destroyed many U.S. Business, and Unemployment, and is Devastating for many U.S. Families! We should call the SHOT's and Not make the China Industries Control /Dictate into our Market ! CIAO!

Just wondering how many panzer warriors out there will be getting the new JadgTiger
within the next week or two. I'll be ordering mine later in the week and looking forward to admiring the size of this behemoth beauty !!!! :salute::

One great looking tank but way to big. I think it will be out for awhile as the price is very steep. So maybe one day down the track. Simmo.:salute::

I am in a hold position right now on it. I am trying to assemble a company of Figarti Abrams tanks so they take preference right now. I agree that $289 is reasonable for this set, I thought it was going to be the first $300+ vehicle we had seen in mainstream production from KC but they proved me wrong.

Regarding the "Secondary" market forecast- really hard to say. The WS103 mounted 88 came out a while back and I have seen that thing go for way less than retail on evilbay so who knows. I wouldn't get too stressed about the "Secondary" market- it people aren't going to pony up the funds at retail, fewer will pony up the funds at ebay prices.

A bit surprised as when this question was posed by Rob when it was first announced, seemed there were a bit more takers. Interesting.

Its a SL and a big AFV so, as many have said both on forum and in PM etc they expected it to be much more. three crew and a large AFV when you look across the board is probably in line so, as long as those that buy it are happy isn't that what its all about??
Mitch

Can't wait to get it myself, I've always wanted a representation of German AFV evolution from the MkI upwards, can't have a complete picture without this monster so am very much looking forwward to this one, looks awesome and hope to pick it up in London on Sat.^&cool

As said, current response is overwhelming in the negative, even though it is a small example. something like 19 no, 5 yes, and 2-3 on the fence. This is a big shift from the initial enthusiasm on the release announcement. That price tag is scary and many of us just won't go for it. At $289, it is a $300 release when tax or shipping is figured in. Don't want to start a war here, but the cost is just way too high. No doubt that the JT is a great looking piece but the expense has crossed the line and I refuse to follow. -- Al

Well its just up to the individual isn't it, we are all free to do as we please and buy or not buy, however I'm afraid I'm never moved by the slightly hysterical calls to boycott, make a stand bla bla. When it comes down to it we just have to ask ourselves one question, do we want it in our collection, I really do.^&cool

Also we should remember that this forum is not really representitive of the whole collecting world, I will bet this beast will be flying off the shelves in London.

I don't believe that I am being hysterical or calling for a boycott at all. Just stating that although I would like the JT in my collection, I cannot and will not pay that much. It is an economic call, pure and simple. -- Al

Sorry, I jumped the gun. Just a might irritated that I can't afford all these beautiful items coming out. Guess I'm in a pretty big boat, though.:redface2: -- Al

Don't get me wrong Al, I know only too well what its like to have to make difficult decisions in this hobby, so much I want and if I buy something it often means something else has to slip by, the agony of choice as it were!:smile2:

For me, $300 represents an Italian M13/40, a few italian soldiers, some of the Napoleon in Egypt figures and one of the new Sons of the Empire. In the old days before retirement, when there were fewer new models each month and when prices were much lower, the Jagdtiger would have been an automatic buy. But not these days. Some time ago I had to accept that I can't buy all the models I would like to buy and even if I could, there are just so many, I couldn't enjoy them all anyway.

Thats what I mean by individual choice Terry, for me an Italian tank and troops do not hold the interest this AFV Monster does, so each to their own^&cool:salute::

That's why for me, the golden age of collecting was long ago when I didn't have to miss out on getting a model I wanted.

Terry

Yep, we all have tough collecting choices to make but at least we know we really want the item we are buying. Also when you look at everything going on in the world right now, if my problem is what to buy next, its not really a problem is it!:wink2::rolleyes2:
