King & Country Museum Under Construction (2 Viewers)

I'm not worried about Andy being angry, he would understand, I just believe in personal integrity. I thought a shot of Tony pretending to open the box would be funny. By the way Tony dropped off a beautiful original K&C wood Hawker Tempest today, as well as 10 of the original glossy Afghan Hill Tribesmen and a set of glossy Louisianna Tiger Zoaves to complete my K&C Glossy Civil War.

Sorry. It was ajoke back. We all know you wouldn't open the boxes.

How do the other planes look?

Guys

Just back in from rushing around NYC...... Jane wife resting her feet whilst i book our seats home on the plane and sneak a peak at the Forum.

Friday night was awesome with the guys in Larrys resturant... Thanks larry.

Great to see Brad and your wife and of course great to see Louis and your wife. What a fun evening (although we all had to be concious of the ladys when talking soldiers)

Louis's house and display is amazing and i can honestly say i have never (and those that know me ) NEVER been lost for words when walking into a room. The time, effort and dedication that Louis has put into his collection is amazing. i was very privileged to see the room with a one to one experience with Louis, Brunch was amazing as well.

i would publically like to thank Larry for dinner and the late night walk tour back to the Club.
i would like to publically thank Brad and his wife for their company at the resturant............be great to catch up again Brad

And a BIG BIG thank you to Louis for the time spent today in his house.

Tony,

I have to thank you for the lovely gifts you brought for my wife and I, as well as for Alec. It was too generous and totally unexpected. I cannot wait until you and Jane visit again. You both have a standing invitation to stay with us anytime (as, of course, do your wonderful parents Mike and Sue).

I just got off the phone with James Wang of Figarti, who confirmed he will be coming to the Saturday afternoon event at my home. I am honored that Mr. Wang will be joining Andy and Gordon Neilson at the Symposium to form a triumverate of some of the most talented, inluential and geuinely nice people involved in Toy Soldier production today.

Boy am I glad I have a showcase full of Figarti vehicles and aircraft on display in the museum!!

Hi Louis,

You are a lucky man indeed. I love you photos and hope I can see the place inperson next time I get to NYC. I was wondering what the Brass Hilted Sword crossed with the Artillery Short Sword was? It looked like it could have been a sword bayonet but I would like to hear from you about the edged weapons hanging in your museum. I also saw the Scotish Broad Sword on the wall with the pendant it was nice to see so many different items coemingled with your troops. I have a pre-civil war Colt Navy Revolver and a Dragoon muzzle loading pistol from 1847 as well as a bunch of other bits and bobs from my Tank days as well as my cavalry saber and my wifes. Anyway I think your museum collection is wonderful!

All the best

Dave

Dave,

That is an 1808 Issue British Rifle Company Sword Bayonet I bought from Bill Hurlbutt at last year's Chicago Show. Also displayed are the Artillery Short Sword you noted, a 19th Century Highland Regiment Claymore, a Civil War Union Field Officer's Sword, a Spanish American War Spanish Infantry Officer's Sword, a Spanish American War Crag Bayonet, a 1903 Issue U.S. Artillery Officer's Sword, and a WWI Japanese Naval NCO's sword.

I would love to see your Colt Navy and Dragoon pistols. Those are some mighty famous and sought after firearms!

You are of course welcome to visit anytime.

Tony,

It was great to meet you in the flesh and to meet Jane. It was a great evening and sorry it had to end so soon. There wasn't too much K & C talk, not overwhelming anway, and of course the food was magnificent.

The evening disproved the belief that dealers can't be friends. Some of my best friends in this hobby are dealers. My best to Mike and Sue.

Looking forward to seeing you and Bob in Chicago.

Have a good trip back.

Louis.

I have followed the transformation of your third floor (Attic?) stage by stage untill completion and I have enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for sharing the experience with us.
You should be, quite rightly, incredibly proud of your acheivement of a K&C Museum housing the most incredible collection I have ever seen, something most of us will only ever dream of.
You are quite right in applauding the very fine workmanship that your contractor 'Lou' has carried out in such a short time (when I built my own house extension it took 18 months).
If I am ever lucky enough to be able to travel to the USA again I would like to come and see it for myself, if I may.

Meanwhile, best regards

Jeff

Jeff,

Of course you are welcome anytime you can get the States. I wholeheartedly agree that Lou, John, Hector, and Lou the Electrician did a great job. I really look forward to more visitors, because having Tony and Jane over was more fun than I even hoped!

Regards,

Louis

Tony,

Glad to see you had a great time in the Big Apple with good friends! I always enjoy the trips to NY and make it a point to meet up with whoever is available.

I want to thank you for dropping off the plane with Louis and will be in touch soon. Say hello to your dad for me.

Thanks,
Bill Sager

I have goody boxes and bags for Tim, Hans, Brad and Bill up in the aircraft room. Plus, Andy called me today and told me 5 big boxes are on the way full of dioramas, aircraft and other K&C items. Christmas in March!

Hi Louis,

Please dont forget to take pictures for us. It looks like this will be a great event!

All the best

Dave

Dave,

Haven't you heard about the webcast? Brian is filming the whole thing, and you can watch Andy's talk live on the internet.

Well we hope.....this would be the first time i'm using this webcam....so lets hope for the best! In theory...it should work lol.

Hi Louis,

Just let me know the time and I will tune in.

All the best

Dave

2:00 P.M. New York time. There's a thread explaining the webcast started by Brian (Warbuff).

The boxes arrived, and Brad and I spent a few hours "oohing" and "aahing" over the amazing dioramas, not to mention the Typhoon and the ME110, which were packed with the dioramas. We set everything up, and the museum really is a museum now!

Just a final thanks to all the people who made the K&C museum happen, from Lou the G.C. (who came to the Symposium and got to see people marvel at the great job he and his people did), Lou the Electrician, John the Carpenter (who got a standing ovation when he showed up at the Symposium), John the A.C. guy, and Hector the drywall/painter, though Brad and Larry (both of whom spent hours helping me set up), my lovely wife Meredith and our mom, Anita (who helped with the design, choice of fabric, paint and carpet, and hanging of decorations), to Andy and Gordon, whose wonderful products inspired the museum and gave it a purpose (nearly bankrupting me in the process!). Thank you so much for making my dream of a place to both work and display my collection come true.
