Kings Troop RHA (1 Viewer)

I received the box today and everything came out ship shape. The problem that I have is that I don't have any room at home :( so I'm setting it up in my office.

With all due respect to Jeff, his pictures don't do the RHA justice. He is a master painter and did an incredible job. It's a shame that he hadn't painted for years. Everything down to the smallest detail is painted exquisitely.

If I were you guys, I'd be knocking his doors down to get him to paint you something because if you don't, I will be!

Jeff, once again many, many thanks. A superb job all around.

Brad: I am glad Jeff did such a nice painting and assembly for your RHA. Nowdays it is nice that some craftsman do such good work.Sounds like you are well pleased with the results. John

Brad,

I'm so glad that the parcel reached you ok, I forgot to include the sketch showing how the limber and trace chains attach to the horses, but if you look at the last set of photographs you can see how the limber cross pole fits into the holes on the horses and how the pins on the end of the chains link the other horses together.

It was a pleasure to paint and I'm sure that it will be an conversation piece when you have it set up in your office :) I thank you for your kind comments about my painting

Regards

Jeff

Hi Jeff
great job on the painting , I really like the look of the
RHA gun teams .Is thier much difference between the uniforms
of these guys and British Hussars.

Thanks Rob,

Their uniform does look very similar, to the point that one of their nicknames is "The Four-Wheeled Hussars".

Hi Jeff

Thanks I had been wondering about that for a while but couldnt find any info , I have the britains set but dont realy like the horses or riders
that come with it .So i,d wondered if it was remotely accurate to replace
them with hussars from another maker. I might have to put my very ltd
skills to the test and see if I can do a conversion .

cheers Rob

What's next?.........maybe an Elephant!

Jeff

Well, after a while and 4000 views of the thread later  I thought that I would have another go at a 'How-To-Paint project. Would there be any interest in one of these? This one I painted a few years ago.

Jeff

And, my vote. I have been following this thread and find it very interesting and helpful.

Thanks to all.....an Elephant it is then

Jeff

Cool!
Will you do it in yellow, red/brown and green camo pattern for a circa. 1943 Kursk setting?

Or grey - what ever works for you...:D;)

Looking forward to seeing the project Jeff, and thanks for taking the extra time so others can benefit.

Simon

The cheques in the post as they say, so in about 7 - 10 days should be able to start a new thread when the castings turn up.
