These are great. Where did you find the building or is it a photo?

Randy

Thanks Randy.

A photo, I found them whilst googling. I believe it is from the Marlborough line.

A pair of very nice looking figures Scott. You have had quite the day with receiving all your new figures - Good for you!
Mike

Scott,

I see an Indian market scene in your future. The backdrop looks great.

Hi Scott,

Congratulations on acquiring your first Delhi Durbar figures! They look really great, especially in front of the Indian building.

You have now embarked on a most exciting journey through the spellbinding and spectacular events that constituted the 1903 Delhi Durbar. I think you will find your first few figures will demand additional human and animal companions in order to fully experience the many festive and celebratory activities that took place. Once you start this journey, there may not be any turning back. But, do not worry, the gratification and rewards of collecting the Durbar are many and they are rich.

Again, congratulations on the new figures. Enjoy them to the max!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Scott,

Thanks very much for sharing your new figures with us.

The pose of the lady figure is quite stunning.

Can you please tell us more about the very nice background ?

Best Wishes, Raymond.

The figures are very nice, but I have to be strong - no new line for me. :( Also like the base you are using. What is it?

The building on the photo is by John Gittens (JG Miniatures) and although trying hard, I have never actually seen one of his buildings from the Durbar range. Unfortunately, I find them a little pricey. Certainly if you wanted to create a whole street with these:

Hi Andanna,

Thanks very much for the info on the building in the background.

N02 to N08 are suitable for the Durbar, with the exception of N04 which appears rather Chinese.

Best Wishes, Raymond.

Thanks everyone for all of your kind comments. I sure am going to love this series.

The building I am using is just a photgraph taken from the net so I am not to sure who made it. I think it is Marlborough.(Fourth building down http://marlboroughtoysoldiers.com/durbarpage4.html) My photo also had the figure but I stood my Indian lady in front to disguise it :)

The base my figures are on is just an artists canvas with sand and grass scattered and glued down. I also use this base for some of my Zulu shots. As I add figures I will add to the thread with my updates. Beggar and Lord Kitchener are next :)

Very nice Scott. Do you know if that house, in the background, is for rent? It's getting cold here in Montreal. Sunny though :).

The Canadian Post Office has decided to commemorate the 1903 Durbar using your photograph. I am sure you will want to run to your post office and pick up a sheet soon.
