Ok, yet again, I listed no picture, no reference to Nazi, etc and ebay informed me that I violated their listing policy because a picture is required for any WW2 item. Now this is really horse crap, so I called my number and lo and behold it is because another member reported it and provided a picture. They wouldnt give me any more information than that. Personally, I think it is really low for someone to do this and my only question is why?? Because I have one and they dont? Or because it commands a high price and they don't like it?? What gives.

Some people really need to get a life or find something to do with their time that doesn't involve sticking their nose in somebody elses.

Wow! that is pretty lame. I don't get it if there is no picture then there is "no harm no foul."

Tom,
I wouldn't be suprised if it was someone from the forum, there's sooo many "people" who think there opinion gives them the right to impose there view on other people.

PC gone mad imo, but check out the recent LAH61 listing from NJJA for some photo suggestions :D

Tommy don't feel like the lone ranger....they pulled my oath taking set off

also. They also informed me that even though the "offensive symbol" had

been removed from the image I could not list the item.

So I came up with a rather unique idea, you are welcome to use it if you

like:rolleyes::)

John,
priceless!!! Really funny, pics are worth a 1000 words!!!

Glad you enjoyed it my friend! And good luck with your Drum Horse! You could

probably list it without pictures, saying they are available via Email.

We will have to wait and see.........uh oh what is that pounding at my

door:eek::eek:.......lets hope its not the ebay-polizei:rolleyes:

Unfortunately, that is what I did and ebay told me they required a picture for anything German WW2. SO, when I called the "hotline" number they gave me, a live person indicated another ebay member reported it and provided a picture. AND, on top of that it is someone I never dealt with and basically, my only thoughts are it is someone who had nothing better to do in life than go after my auction, either because they are ultra pc or they didn't like the price I put on the item.

It is a shame people don't have anything better to do really isn't it. They are obviously not a collector of toy soldiers which begs the question, why were they looking there in the first place

eBay stinks! We need to be on the lookout for any new auction sites, check them out, and throw our support to them if they meet our needs without the hassles.

Maybe it is another collector!~! Who knows, that is the part they wouldn't tell me.

This is a very unfortunate event among many that have and will occur in our country. Remember the 50's and the "red" threat and all the lives that pc era caused to be harmed.

My own personal belief is - do what you wish, as long as you do not cause harm to me and mine. It is a great miscarriage of freedom that the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution does not apply to the private sector when involving public discourse or the intercourse of commerce. I served in the US Navy for 20 years in the belief that my country and I are free and independent. That even applies to such things as flag burning. I know that is offensive to some, but to restrict such actions of free speech and the free trade of willing individuals is a great harm to freedom everywhere.

Many evil governments have begun with not a great revolution but with the removal of small freedoms one at a time until it is a reality that freedom does not exist. The unfortunate thing is that EBay has such a monopoly on the Internet auction business that there does not exist a means to object with enough strength to make a significant change.

TD, I stand with you.

Funny you should mention this...:D:D:D. I can only say
CGA
and "watch this space" but I think you will soon be smiling instead of frowning.

PS Treefrog isn't immune...there went my Souvenir Hunters set auction--it just got the 'illegal item' axe from eBay sometime overnight.

Best regards,

I don,t get ebay either. I had two listings removed because I used the term "Rubenstein not Marx" Rubenstein is a plastic figure maker not well known so I added the Marx just to get more play.
Also with the same listings, I did the above listing with a couple of other plastic makers that were not well known and they were not removed.
Don,t get it.

They have a department that spot checks auctions, if they happen to come

across something they don't like....poof its gone. They have been doing this

for years. Several years ago they told me Nazi items could not be sold in

Germany so Ebay would not allow anything with the swastika. For years many

of us have blocked the symbol on items we have sold......now Ebay will not

allow even a blocked out photo.

As a side note I'm starting a new business......"Njja's Happy Place"

where I will provide photos of puppies, and clowns, for all to

substitue on your auctions to comply with ebays photo rule!:D:)

Did your listing have WorldWide shipping?

If so, remove Germany in your shipping options.

Cheers

I have in fact been harassed on my eBay site by a member of this forum

Can Shannon give us more information about a case like this? I don't mean the specifcs of IXEC's situation. But rather, if one member causes a problem for another outside the forum, could that be grounds for banning him, following an appropriate invsetigation? After all, the forum is private, that is, it has its own rules, to which we agree, but as the operator of the forum, you can exercise your judgment.

I think that kind of behavior violates the spirit of this forum, if not the actual rules.

Well, to take IXEC's example (which I realize you are not specifically referring to) I believe a true toy soldier online auction site would allow WWII German figures to be bought and sold. As I mentioned in a rebuttal to a pulled auction notice from eBay several years ago it is difficult to do much with a battle diorama if you can only buy and sell one side. They kindly told me they were sorry but those were the eBay rules.

As the administrator of the forum my jurisdiction is within the forum and short of hiring a detective or lawyer to substantiate allegations of outside the forum impropriety I don't see this working. There is a code of ethics in this hobby and the hobby is a small place. If someone does something other collectors feel is 'not cricket' word gets around.

So there's an ebay troll, what else is new.

I have had so many auctions pulled over the years. They even had me take like a grade school quiz.

Is there another one listed right now? I would watch for any new listings of this piece in the coming week or two.
