Lakers and Celtics (1 Viewer)

The Lakers have lost to the Celts in so many epic ways over the years. If they got a call or two this year so be it. Game 7 was like a wrestling match of no-calls for 3 quarters which favored the Celts. Garnett actually tackled Artest at one point driving for a tying score and there was no call. It was an ugly game, but both teams played hard which is all any fan can ask for.

I have read every post on this thread...and I just want to say I'm sick of the Boston whiners and moaners...

injuries...conspiracies by Sterns and the referees...invisible fouls...flops...statistics...you guys got every excuse in the world...

and I'm tired of all the insults...Kobe "huffing and puffing" to get the best actress award...Phil Jackson's just a baby sitter with no class...Artest is a thug/goon that's not right in the head...LA's blue collar, wingnut, fruitloop fans...Gasol got a face only his mother could love...

I have heard every excuse and insult to the Lakers you guys could muster...

I'm sorry the East coast fans on here are so disgruntled and feel their team underachieved by losing in the finals Game 7...I'm also sorry if any of you feel the game was poorly officiated...but that's life...

with a regular season record as bad or worse than 11 of the 16 teams to make the playoffs...I'm personally amazed they went this far...Boston plays in the weakest division in the NBA...

when fans start critiquing the fouls...it's the last straw gasp for an excuse...we woulda...we coulda...we shoulda...if not for those referees...

I'm pretty sure I know what is the cause of most of the dissent...but nobody is gonna admit it...

it's cause it's the Lakers that beat them..

the hated Lakers and especially Phil Jackson...

had it been the Cavs or the Magic that eliminated them...and not the Lakers...I don't think you guys would be fussing so much or looking for excuses...

I'm pretty sure the underlying cause for all the sour grapes is...that it was the hated Lakers...closing in on their claim to fame on "most titles"...by a coach that has already surpassed their "king" with the most wins...

your bragging rights are in jeopardy...

all the mystique is disappearing...the magic is fading...the long time dominance of records is being slowly squashed...the Leprechaun is gone...

Auerbach has been replaced as the winningest coach and is now a footnote...

you East coast fans are mad cause your bragging rights are fading...

by the hated Lakers...

you guys are gracious winners...but really poor sports when losing...

sorry about your season...sorry about Auerbach and sorry about the records slowly vanishing...

now whine a little more and have a baloney sandwich dude...

I think the Celts played the best they could, no excuses they just weren't good enough.
The injuries were a factor, no doubt, if Bynum wasn't injured it would have been over even sooner.
This was the Lakers year, they've managed to put together a great team and Jackson is a great, great coach, personality manager, whatever, but he gets results, 13 finals in 20 years?!?!? you gotta be kidding me if you question that!
You know the celts will be back, but for now they're old and need to rebuild.

One last hurrah for this thread. So long Kobe. Hopefully the Lakers bring it home in this terrible year of our lord 2020. And yes George and I have been at this for a long time.

Really cool you dug up a 10 year old thread.

Well look at it this way; you won't have to parade around Gettysburg in your Los Angels Lakers 2010 World Champions teeshirt too much longer.

Would have been fitting to knock off the Celtics instead of Butler and 11 cardboard cut outs, would have put a nice TOUCHE!! on it, beating the hated Celtics.

And wow, what an epic rant by Mike Miller.

Really impressive work there.

Yeah, that's exactly what Boston sports fans were feeling back then.

Sure they were.

Holy smokes.

Kobe! Kobe! I may have to buy several t shirts this year the way the Dodgers, Lakers, and Rams are playing.
