Damian,
Are those the same guys in the desert dio you posted in the Dragon Crest discussion?
Mike

They are a mixture of Trophy Sudan Gordons (Red Tunics) on left, Black Watch with blue tunics in the front and LL Black Watch (red tunics )rear and right of square. The Dervishes are a mix of Trophy/Dragon Crest and Little Legion.
They all go well together

Here are some more bits and pieces

Although I do not collect the LL's Sudan range and Napoleonic range, I do enjoy seeing them when I visit the Toy Soldier Shoppe in Milwaukee.

You are lucky to be so close to such a great shop. I visited Milwaukee for 5 days in Feb 1998. I never realized there was such a great shop nearby.

Here is my first purchase of 2009.
90th Mounted Infantry.

Hi Brian and Scott,

I must confess that the figures by Mike Norris of Little Legion do distract me from my first love ie: Trophy.

My first Little Legion set was Sgt. Charles Ewart of the Royal Scots Greys capturing the French Eagle of the 45th Regiment.

I have placed an order for the latest Little Legion catalogue, but I have yet to receive it from Mike.

All the Best, Raymond:).

Raymond,

I feel the same way, Trophy is trying to distract me from Little Legion, but every once in a while I lose focus and buy a Trophy set.:D
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your reply:).

Of all the manufacturers currently operating, I think Little Legion probably makes the best gloss 54 mm figures these days.

Some would say that Little Legion is the unofficial successor to Trophy of Wales. Frankly, I would not disagree.

Mike Norris does great work and he has much to offer. After all, he did work with Trophy of Wales before the company sadly folded.

Have a Great Weekend, Raymond:).

Hi Raymond,

I do agree with you, I believe that LL makes the best glossy figures out in the market today and that LL is the successor to Trophy. As of now the Trophy Zulu range is much more extensive that LL, but with time LL will catch up to Trophy.

Additionally, I think that they complement each other well. Although, I mainly collect LL, I will pick up a Trophy set evey now and then.

Brian

And let's not forget a calendar for the Little Legion Collectors.....The Lt.

After the battle the defenders at Rorke's Drift had the chore of removing the Zulus who had fallen in battle.

Brian,
That's a nice one to have...You always need some volunteers to do the clean-up work:p Just put some Vicks rub under his nose!
Mike

I visited the Toy Soldier Shoppe and did my part to stimulate the the Toy Soldier economy.

Brian,
Nice stimulus package! Is that Mounted Infantry with sword a new figure? He looks great, compared to most others [I've seen with rifles[/I]
