Little Legion (1 Viewer)

Mike,

It is not on the list of Little Legion figures that I have and it is not on LL website. I believe it was a special order for someone, that was not picked up. The box that it came in has "90th Officer special" written on it. I will ask Paul next time I speak to him, he was not at the shop today.

I was bored today so I drove up to Milwaukee and saw it in the cabinet and decided to buy it. I am glad that Milwaukee is close to Chicago as Paul's Shop is the only US distributer of Little legion figures.

We moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota last Summer, and one of the things I miss the most, are those Saturday trips to Paul's shop. He is a real gem of a guy isn't he?

Nice haul you've made there.

I have the Bugler and officer in the exact same poses but painted as the 17th Lancers. I also have the bugler as a KDG. They are in LLs catalogue as z24 (officer on charging horse with sword raised in the air), z/25 (17th bugler) and z/122 (KDG bugler).

I would really like Mike to produce more poses for the 17th Lancers other than 3 produced so far. Ideally with lances in the air and lances and face turned forward.

999th,

You are correct the 90th Officer is the same as the KDG and the Bugler is the same as the 17th.

The other Mounted 90th figures that I have are
Z25 Bugler as a 90th
Z72 Back From the Brink
Z73 Deadly Encounter
Z82 Ambush
Z103 Mounted Trooper Firing Carbine

I believe that Mike will paint the figures to your request.

Brian

Thanks for posting your pics.

I just have z/103 and z/93 (trooper hunter dismounted) in the 90th.

z/73 and z/72 are near the top of my "to buy" list. But I need to decide which regiment to go for. I am leaning towards the 90th.

What I would really like is some of the Napoleonic poses done as the KDG and the 17th. I don't know if Mike does this or is planning to do this.

All of these figures look very good, the only LL I have are Z/2 - Ammo carriers and a 24th falling backwards after being shot, not sure of the set number

Cheers

Martyn:)

Joe,

The LL figures look very nice with the Frontline wagon. I wish Mike would make more of these type of figures. I think there is wide range camplife figures that could be made.

On the way to relieve Pearson's Coastal Column at the Eshowe Mission, the Relief Column led by Gen. Lord Chelmsford laagered at a place the British called "Gin, Gin, I Love You" The Zulu corps attacked at dawn, sending these raw recruits of the 60th Rifles(King's Royal Rife Corps) to the wagon line to defend the column.

Mike,

I like it.

Is that a repaint on the wounded officer?

Very nice Mike and say it ain't so repainted glossy Britains wagons  and where did that box on the wagon come from :)

Scott,
It ain't. I made both from balsa wood and plastic under-axles from other toys.
The box also. The barrels and ammo crates I bought, and the wrapped tent from WB's Durnford's Last Stand.

Nicely none in presening the 60th 1879returning to the wagon line to defend the column and featuring another group of figure from your LL collection.........The Lt.

Mike
A very interesting set and great photos

Thanks fellow Zuluphiles,
I will get these Rifles out from laager tonight in order to better see them, unabashed!
Mike

Here's a better picture of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Mike N. recommended the officer to be painted as 60th since he said it would be cool and he hadn't done it before.

I like the officer. I like Mikes willingness to paint figures to collectors specifications and to selling figures singularly or by the set.

Mike is very willing and happy to work with collectors to satisfy their requests.

Can you picture the forum in 30 years time. Guys trying to decide if an e bay set is LL or not. Did he do teh 60 th? I cannot see that in my 2009 catalogues. There is an old guy called Mike Brady but he won't answer e mails...
