Hello all!
I thought I would share some images of a custom London Blitz Diorama we recently built for Toy Soldier & Model Figure Magazines new subscription drive.
We were told that Dorset Soldiers was creating a new Winston Churchill figure subscription renewals and they wondered if we would be interested in building a small display too. The fine folks at Treefrog Treasures were also willing to contribute figures from any one of the brands that they currently stock, so the first figures that came to ind were the excellent refugee figures from King & Country.
Take a moment and visit www.toy-soldier.com for more information.

The following images are of the custom 11' X 28" shelf diorama we built for TS&MF.

I couldn't resist making the bomb damaged general goods store a W. Britain dealer... proprietor, K. Osen.

A close up of the upstairs apartment space... notice the October 1940 calendar on the wall.

The wallpaper adds interest as well as the framed picture of lady Butler's famous painting of the Scot's Grays.

Wherever shall I go officer?

A Tobacco shop is to the left and the 'Rose & Crown' to the right of the building suffering the most damage. Note the white strips painted on the curb and the lamp post base to assist navigating during the blackout.

A view from the street of the damage... the front wall has partially fallen away exposing the plaster and lath.

Superb scene Ken, just brilliant. The detail is fantastic and the figures go very nicely with it, great work{bravo}}

Additional K&C sets stand in for residents displaced to shelters because of Luftwaffe raids. Hudson & Allen 'Rubble' was used to soften the edges of the K&C figure bases for photography, then simply removed and returned to the bag when I was finished.

I really enjoyed building this Blitz diorama even though it was shoe-horned in between W. Britain new product development and H&A projects.
I hope you enjoy looking at these.
All the Best!

Very nice. Never thought of the civillian figures as brits until now

Thanks for the compliments... A few of the details on some of the civilians in the range don't 'feel right' for UK fashions of the period, but I chose the ones that I thought worked. My favorite figure is the policeman though... getting some notes to fill out the days report.

Hey Brad,

I'm just working out what or who I can sell so I can afford it mate!:wink2:

My forthcoming UXB dio will have elements of this but not in the same league, this is just superb work.

It is excellent work, isn't it. I'm sure Andy will be pleased to see how well his figures and this diorama go together. Ken and Gordon are in a class by themselves.

Outstanding Ken . . . . the photos look even better than the description you gave me during our telephone conversation yesterday. As always, absolutely jaw dropping and once again setting the standard. All the best . . . .

The London Blitz display is just superb with outstanding detail.....great work by Ken Osen.

The new K&C UXB figures would fit in very nicely in the display.....in fact, the "Fields of Battle" sets are well represented in the photographs.

Thanks, Raymond.:)
