Love this from Figarti

Also a big thank you to the intrepid barmaid who took the time and effort to clamber onto the bar to fit all the group into the photo. She went above and beyond the call of duty but we were all pretty chuffed.

She looks like a fine lass who is doing her best to mantain the fine tradition and calling of the British barmaid.

Hope Simon is ok this morning, I'm worried he has 'Chocolate hangover' .You see the good folk at K&C UK put out little bowls of Chocolates all around their room, Simon was visiting each of these bowls in a regularity akin to a debt collector visiting doors in Victorian East end London. I never touch them myself but hope he is ok:wink2:

Thanks for posting all the pix folks. Really nice to see what's out there. BTW did anybody see any of the new offerings (Aztecs and Conquistadors) from Morgan Miniatures?

cheers

Many thanks for the photos, were most of them taken very early? The place seemed much more crowded when I was there. Far too much to take in, as I discovered from the photos, I don't remember seeing 'that' and missed 'that', but picked up a lot. Pity I'd already ordered James Opies new book, I couldn't justify buying another copy, even signed. Managed to pick up a bagful of stuff, some from the cheap trays will end up as conversions for my own use (Volunteers, Yeomanry, etc) eventually.I haven't been for some years, my wife was with me, had one tour of the rooms then sat in the foyer while I did a thorough trawl, then insisted we go along Oxford Street (punishment or payback?). Enjoyed the show, though there seemed to be a lot of repetition or similarity in the stalls. Did I get the wrong impression?. Having said that, is there a period that isn't represented? Now must start saving up for March.

Well its my first show for a while and took my 4year old son(his first trip to London) and got there quite early and we both really enjoyed it.
It need seem quite busy at around 12 and then the place feels quite congested and not big enough, like a rugby scrum and it always seems to hot,but that could be just me?
I must say i was really impressed how people engaged with my son on his budding collecting career,Richard Walker from Britains taking a few minutes enquiring about his plastics,his Frontline free figure and the free sweets off the King and Country telling what he did and didn't like.In some ways it was fun to see the displays from his eyes and i enjoyed it was a change(i ended with 3 Ancient Greeks because of it){eek3}
Not too bad to say there is a recession^&grin
Just a few images of my purchases,i haven't included images of the Armies in Plastic Camels.
I didn't manage to make the meet up,too much to see and do and the Queen to see:)

Ok guys, over the next few hours/days you wll no doubt be swamped with pics we all took, but before it all starts a quick thank you.

I want to thank all you who were in the bar today, you know who you are, it was quite simply the most enjoyable get together yet, absolutely hilarious for reasons I cannot explain on a family forum for fear of a five year infraction, but it involved the Barmaid and James position in the bar, much hilarity followed and I was still laughing on the way home!^&grin^&grin^

Was so good to see you all today, the get togethers just get better and better:wink2:

I thought I was ok until Tony and Dave pointed out how badly I was walking when I went back in!:D

Pics to follow

Rob

A big thanks Rob for posting the photo"s of yesterdays show, and to all the forum guys present in the bar!! I would have liked to stay longer
(in the bar) but limited time and a wallet that was still burning a hole in my pocket forced me to leave the joyfull gathering to return to the
tables filled with all sorts of tempting items!!!......but i can tell you i was still laughing all the way back to the Netherlands!!. Hope to see you all same time/same place next year.....Happy collecting till then.

Steve

PS...Dont forget to post the special photo"s...if need"s be i will let you know my Email Address
