A great big thank you to everyone documenting this London Toy Soldier Toy, you've done Yeoman's work! :smile2: The variety of manufacturers at this show is staggering, such a wide range of era's and huge number of pieces. I've been on and off my PC all day checking in on this thread. In particular the Aeroart selection is quite simply stunning.......wish I was in that league. :redface2: Cheers to all!

Wonderful pics and coverage Rob, thank you!! Looks like a TON of fun!! My favorites from the pics are the amazing Nile gun boat dio, TM Terrain's magnificent structures, JG's ever impressive wide array of diorama pieces, Thomas Gunn's forthcoming WWII and WWI figures, and last but certainly not least, K&C!! I don't collect planes (gotta draw the line somewhere), but if I did, John Jenkins would appear to be the haerdest to resist...GREAT STUFF!!! I also saw a connoisseur figure on foot in one of your pics that I probably could not have resisted had I been there. Thanks again for taking the time to shoot and post the pics. I must make it across the pond someday to come to the show and meet you toy soldier maniacs!

Gentle Friends,

I realize there are more photos to come, but I want to say those that have already appeared are excellent! I very much appreciate the time and willingness you have demonstrated in bringing as much as possible of the show and of the show atmosphere to us. You have performed a truly outstanding and generous act in sharing your wonderful and exciting experience with us. Thank you very, very much!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :smile2:

Many thanks to all as usual. The sight of all those Trophy was staggering. You never ever see even a fraction of that at shows here in the US.

There are more pictures to come, but it's never too early to say a big thank you to all who have posted so far.....very much appreciated. Great shots of the barmaid too.....at long last.:D

Raymond:)

Thank you for all the photos to date. It is still amazing to me about the number of wonderful TS companies offering great products that are totally unknown to us in the states. Is there a reason for ignoring our market place? If it was not for the photos from these shows, who here, would ever hear of them...Also where did the skirts come from? Michael

I have been to several of the Chicago Shows, but especially for the collector of glossy Toy Soldiers, I do believe that the London Show is the place to go. Thanks to the excellent coverage provided by many of our British forum members, we can all have a look at lots and lots of the fabulous offerings.
While in Chicago, where you have room trading going on for 2 or 3 days prior to the Show, in London it is hitting you only for a few hours, the very Show Day from maybe 9:00am to 3:00pm or so.
Has to be a great experience, not even considering the meet and greet at the bar at 12:30 sharp :)
One day I will make it.
Konrad

Just my thoughts.....the London show held over one day is a bit short for those who have to travel a long distance from overseas.

Perhaps, the new organisers may consider a two day show over Saturday and Sunday at least once a year.:wink2:

There seem to be so many manufacturer tables to cover in a few hours plus attend the bar event at 12.30pm sharp.

Raymond.:)

Gazza,

your 'moving picture show' is a great way for us to see in and around the figures and eqipment on show....

just like being there

:):):)

Well done, and thanks for them,

John

I think the UK toy soldier business is a cottage industry. I don't think it's a deliberate ignorance of the US market. They are probably not big enough to make it worth their while nor have the werewithal to make it feasible. Perhaps if they could form a cooperative and have someone represent them it might work. On the other hand these companies may be happy or content doing it the way they're doing. I suspect our only choice is to get ourselves off to one of those shows, where our wallets would be pleasantly drained :)

Yeah i agree John they where great a thanks from me to.

Also a big thank you to the intrepid barmaid who took the time and effort to clamber onto the bar to fit all the group into the photo. She went above and beyond the call of duty but we were all pretty chuffed.

Guys, you have to come over sometime. Its such a good day. All the London shows are enjoyable, but somehow the December show has a better atmos and is real fun. Everyone is in a great mood, the jokes and drink are flowing,Andy is there chatting and answering all the questions we fire at him and there are hundreds of thousands of TS's to gawp at. I can honestly sit here and say that yesterday was probably the best yet. In the bar we had Bob,Andy, Alan, Glyn, Jeff, James, Simon, Steve, myself and of course the barmaid. It was such a laugh, you guys would always be assured of a warm welcome in the bar and you will be in TS heaven looking at all the tables. Don't think about it just book it! :wink2: (but I wouldn't stay at that Hotel:wink2:)

Thanks for the great selection of photos.

I noted some nice items from JG Mins. A couple of Jenkins painted sets appeared new. One was a pair of WWI Germans with binos and the other (post 12) two Brits in red coats.

Regards
Brett
