London Show Pics? (3 Viewers)

It's always nice to connect faces with names- When I was first looking at the picture, I could have sworn Rob was Trooper and Trooper was Rob{sm4}^&grin! Wraith and UK Reb looked just about the same as I thought.

Anybody know what that Nile River Gunboat is made of and how much its going to cost?:smile2:

Louis,

According to the Britains staff manning the stand on Saturday, the boat is made from a foam material and comes complete with 15 figures and an artillery piece for £900. It is limited to 400, 200 each for the UK and US.

A very fine model indeed.

And once that Duel is finished I shall be waiting, well when I say I , I mean of course Simon who will be acting for me. I understand his preferred weapons are washing up gloves, a rolled up Radio times and a large radish. May god have mercy upon your soul, he's the Devil when he's miffed you know!

Anybody know who was selling these as I spy some Trophy ACW?

Sorry Brad just seen this, I think it was the usual chap, but only sells at the shows I remember from previous show reports? Martyn might be able to shed more light on this.

Hi Brad

Jeff is right, Richard only sells at the Shows and doesn't do mail order

Cheers

Thanks to everyone who posted, great stuff! Had a question about one of the items. What tank is this pictured off to the side? Looks like an 8th army vehicle, but I can't place it.

Hi,
The tank you are pointing to is a Lee/Grant Medium tank ( M3,M3A1,M3A2,or one of its variants ) sent over to the British Army in Africa under the Lend Lease program between the US and Britain. It is as we may say the precessor of the Sherman tank. Unfortunately the pic has the tank from an angle that you cannot see, but it carries a 75mm short barrel gun on a sponson ( very much in the style of the WW1 Battleships......with a limited transverse of 90 degrees....so guess what if these came across a Panzer MKIV at the wrong angle....the whole tank had to move! ). On the turrent a 37mm gun, plus a 3 inch machine gun co-axial, and two more 3inch machine guns at the bow.....Not an impressive piece of armour, but more of a stop gap until the Shermans or any thing better could be thrown against Rommel came around!

Looks like another great show lads. Thanks to everyone for taking the photos and providing info on what was available.

Always fun to see the TS shows. Hopefully one day I will be able to make it to one.

A round of applause for all who took the time to post photos of the show and to those that posted reports of the events that took place at the show.
Brian
