London Show report and pics (1 Viewer)

Simon-
Thanks so much for posting the John Jenkins figures. These appear to be the first of the new War of 1812 line identified on another thread as the Battle of Chippewa. That Figarti E-Boat takes my breath away.

Doug, my pleasure, glad you're able to pick out what was new, there was a lot of info for my brain to take in.

And yeah, that e-boat is nice. I'd need to get my mantle piece extended though.

Thanks so much Simon for taking the time to present such a fantastic report.

The new JJD Winfield Scott’s brigade at The Battle of Chippewa July 1814 look great. Oh Boy!

I am really impressed by the Britains Rorkes Drift hospital building. For my money its the best product I've ever seen them produce.

Simon-

thanks for the pics- my wife and I were just checking them out. I think that Britain's hospital is superb- what a neat way to do the hospital- a 3D Facade!! That was cool.

The Zulu snatching that guys boot is just a classic piece!!! I will probably grab that up- it's just TOOO unique to pass up.

The frontline figures looked top notch as well. They always do such a great line of figures.

Looks like it was a funtime had for all!!

Thank you Simon for your detailed report & clear photos. Looking forward to war correspondent Bob's video update. The TV crew looked real mean, didn't they.

JJ's new war of 1812 looks very good. I have finally found the excuse to add JJ's to my collection ... more troops from the WELLINGTON period.

Thank you again

WOW! you guys did a fantastic job of reporting and picture taking, thank you.

Thanks for the great pics , nicely taken

Just one question , in the arnhem picture , are they new K&C arnhem diorama buildings or a one-off for the show:confused:

This came up a couple of weeks ago and those buildings were made or sourced by Hobby Bunker but weathered and made to look good by George Guerriero of Minuteman Toy Soldiers.

they do look good, would be nice to see K&C release some new buildings along the lines of the french walls or berlin tenement style

All I can say is a heartfelt thank you for your efforts.
As always you came through with the goodies.
To all of those who posted their reports, Rob, ANdy and anyone I may have missed out Thank you very much.
It is almost like being there.
Regards

Simon, thanks for the photos! For me there are 3 standouts at the show:

1) The John Jenkins 1812
2) The Britains Zulus - even though I doubt I will collect this line, they look like the best painted matte figures Britains has ever done
3) Figarti's products, which continue to wow even though we've seen them already (though never a close-up of the B-17s including the wonderful paint jobs and the cockpit detail - simplay fantastic!). I just ordered their second V-1 so I have both now.

Back in a mo....

It shows what a gentleman's war it was in the desert. Apparently Rommel himself insisted on leaving big signs in English saying Please do not Touch to prevent the 8th army straying onto any minefields

Blackhawks 7th Cav - first time I've seen them all painted - look good:

I believe the last three photos are from Fusilier/Tommy Atkins. Outstanding gloss at its best. I'll be collecting my share from the show tomorrow. Can hardly wait!

You're of course right, my apologies. I had a mind blank and have just rechecked the exhibiter guide. They are very nice figures.

Cheers
Simon

Simon,

Just got in and checked this thread. Wow! thanks very much for taking time (from the bar) to photograph all these goodies :)

Jeff

Thanks Brad, I know how much I enjoy seeing the pictures of the US shows. Looking forward to seeing all the bits I missed on K&C UKTV.

Simon

Praise indeed Brad, and well deserved, especially after how hard he worked......in the bar......

It was for medicinal purposes only, as it helps to steady my shaking hands when taking the photos. :D
