London symposium 2013 (1 Viewer)

The day of the June show is also the Queen's official birthday so we will have Trooping the Colour to tantalise our overseas visitors as well as the show and get together at midday. Trooper

Hi All,
As the June London show is fast approaching and the tourists will be taking over London some of us have been working behind the scenes to arrange the get together for all those froggers attending the show.
On the Friday night preceding the show (7th June) there is a dinner arranged for those who wish to meet with the likes of Louis and Ed and Howard and Steven plus many of the Brit "froggers"
There are still a couple of places left if anyone is around the night before the show.
The venue is 5 mins from the Exhibition Centre.

I'll take the Liberty of promoting "The Old lags" drinking session on the day of the show which unfortunately I can't attend as I'll be on my stand.

On the Sunday (9th June) there is an open house at my place ( in sunny Essex UK) from about 12.00noon for any interested parties who want to chew the cud with fellow collectors and have a look at a camel or two!!

Anyone interested in either the Friday dinner or the Sunday open house please email me at "greygoose@spa.eclipse.co.uk" Spaces at the dinner will have to be first come first served as we are nearly full but it would be great to see anyone on the Sunday if not. Directions can be provided. Oh.... I'm told I should mention for anyone of a nervous disposition that we have 2 very large dogs but they will have been fed so no problem!!

The following week, Louis, Ed ,Howard and I are travelling around various sites in the UK, Duxford, Bovington, Portsmouth etc., if anyone wants to meet up en route again let me know.

Should be a blast.

Regards
Clive

I can't wait to see everyone! ^&cool^&cool Thanks for doing all the scheduling, Clive:smile2:, believe me, I know how difficult it can be.:wink2:

Do we yet know how many overseas Treefroggers will be attending? Judging from the responses so far there will be contingents from the US, OZ, the Netherlands at least. A rough idea would be useful. It will also be useful if some form of identity labels are worn with name and forum identity both shown. Trooper

Hello Trooper

I hope you are doing well. You told me not to waste too much time coming over to see you so next weekend sounds like a plan. My wife is finalizing our plans right now. Still could be some unseen hiccup but I am 95% confident my wife and I will be in the ranks for the show. I do very much look forward to meeting you and some of the other "Lads"

I will not be wearing any TF labels, nametags etc. I will probably be wearing my University of Arizona T Shirt (which is red with a Big "A" on it) and Blue jeans. Not sure how else to describe me, many of the TF people that have run into me at shows say I look exactly as they imagined and/or that I had a strong military look to me...go figure. I will have a high and tight haircut with a salt and pepper look. Beyond that Im 6' 2" and weigh in the 245 range. I also have glasses with large lenses. My wife will be with me and have me in check

I told my wife last night in typical light infantry fashion I will be bringing nothing but my Reebok gym bag on this trip- 4 pairs of underwear, 2 shirts and socks and pajamas, deodorant, soap, toothpaste and ipod. My wife has informed me that she finds this unacceptable and will be packing herself accordingly. She claims I won't be able to take her to a formal dinner with all my stuff packed in a gym bag. I am of the understanding that the British tend to shun and eschew the "pomp and circumstance" of dinner time

So yeah, Im looking forward to seeing several of you. We wont be able to do any of the other events. My wife is intent on seeing the Princessess "baby bump" so not sure what that will entail :)

Best regards
CC

Son, your ego is writing cheques your body can't cash. If there's anything other than a Miramar connection displyed across your T shirt, you'll be refused a fly by.......

Great evening Joe, members from the 4 corners in attendance. Photos taken, but they'll have to wait until I'm sober enough to post them. More tomorrow!

Cheers

You are up quite late my friend. Get some rest, you've got a big day tomorrow.

Looking forward to the pics from the show. It's hard to believe that it's been a whole year since I was there last June. Hope all you guys have a great time.

On way to show with a rare old hangover but what a lovely evening. . An absolute pleasure to meet some truly nice genuine people who have over the years become real friends. Howard, Louis, Ed, Chris , Steven it was a joy to meet you and your lovely/wives and families and of course the same goes for my UK friends who I am also very fortunate to count as such.

Now for the show and heres hoping the hangover is gone by the time we start again at lunchtime!

Finally a big thanks to Clive for his efforts in getting us all together

Rob

As Rob rightly said, a big thanks to Clive for putting together a fantastic evening, and what a pleasure it was meeting many forum friends, like Rob, Dave, Simon and Bob, for the first time face to face, and to see many good old friends, like Kevin, for the first time in years. Looking forward to seeing many other friends, old and new, today at the show.:smile2:
