I think there are two issues - sections on the forum and coverage of the show.

I would have thought any manufacturer can post in the other manufacturers section and when they get sufficient coverage they get put on the first page. That is how TG started out.

Regarding the London show there are a mass of manufacturers and dealers and so I think it is reasonable that people will take pictures of things at the show that they like and collect; or that they think are different and interesting.

Personally, I am not interested in Glossy's but on this thread there are 20 of ATS alone (More than KC and Figarti combined) and 30+ of Little Legion - why? Because a mate on the forum asked me to take some pictures.

Did you or anyone post and ask for pictures of Asset? If not, I am sure one of us would have tried to help.

As to the comment "Many thanks though to those forum members that took the trouble to take the photos on the day. I as someone due to illness who could not attend appreciated the coverage provided albeit was geared towards the bigger manufacturers and the matt end of the hobby in the main." Was the last part necessary ?

We are fellow collectors, not reporters for the show and several of us spent hours of our weekend posting pics. Nothing to stop Glossy fans and their manufacturers doing it :smile2::smile2::smile2:

Cheers

I agree, this would probably be asking too much of our fellow members. When I want to search for photos of a certain brand I use the search tool on the London show threads for instance and do it do good effect. Occasionally we get some show photos outside the show threads, in the manufacturer threads, which is really a bonus.

Gazza is right, as interest in a maker increased they eventually will reciev their own section on the forum.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of "posted" interest on the forum.

I only know of myself, johnnybach, beating retreat and trooper who have Asset.

I think Randy has a few ATS pieces

Little Legion comprised of Martyn, The LT, I think Damian and Paulo

Konrad has miscellaneous pieces from a few makers

and that is about it.

Shame really.

hi Gazza,

Sorry I did not intend my post to cause offence to anybody and I was very grateful to you and the others that took the time to take and upload photos of the day. My post was merely in support of Trooper's suggestion that a section might possibly be created for the smaller UK makers as a means of getting their new releases brought to the attention of a wider audience.

I also fully understand that the likes of ATS, Asset and others are not as popular perhaps as K&C and Figarti but based on that assumption I wonder as to how Little Legion was allocated its on section on the Forum when other posts on this topic have suggseted that they know of very few collectors or followers of Lt. Legion figures on Tree Frog!

I also take your point with regard to the amount of images of ATS etc that are to be found on this and other posts on the show, but they are some what difficult to locate when a topic such as "pictures from the show" receives so many hits.

Last but not least I fully intended to go to the show on saturday, but was laid low at the last minute withan ear infection/virus that affected my balance and made travelling unsafe. So once again thank you for taking the time to take and upload your photos to give me a flavour of the day.

Best Wishes

When it comes to the British cottage manufacturers, I am selling my 2 last Little Legion sets (I like them but had to make some choices) and for now stick to Tommy Atkins/Fusilier and a few Tradition pieces, mostly the wonderful John Firth painted ones. Will also keep some WWI Trophy sets. They are all wonderful though and I always enjoy threads that relate to them.

No worries - hope the ear is better. In future if you are unable to attend then drop me a PM and if I'm going will try and get some shots of what you want to see.

I think normally, Jeff takes lots of pics of the smaller manufacturers but understand he was AWOL

Cheers
