London Toy Soldier Show March 2011 (1 Viewer)

Those planes, are they tinplate? Were they Dorset or Yeomanry? How much did they cost? Does anybody have some close up photos of them? Thanks in advance for any help.:smile2:

Louis

There were Dorset - they looked tin plate to me.

Gazza

Just to say thanks to Gazza and Rob for the great images. It is almost like being there. The nest thing about the shows is not the big boys K and C and WB etc. They all have great online presences so whilst it is great to see their stuff it is not new. What I like is all the smaller manufacturers Metal Shed and WM Hocker from the US and LL ATS etc from the UK.
Thanks guys.
This is also the first time that all us cricket fans on this forum do not want to talk about it except maybe for the Kiwis.

I was wondering the same thing. Could not tell if they were tin or not..Michael

I think Andy got some close up shots of the Dorset planes. Definately metal, prices seemed silly cheap at £15 for unpainted and £36 ish for painted.

I agree. Being a glossy collector, it seems that I am missing out on some excellent England based small cottage mfg., who have no presence here in the states. I would love 1 taste of the London shows, in my remaining lifetime..Michael

I agree Michael, it is a shame we don't have the same type of cottage mfg over here.

Thanks! :smile2: I have got to find out about these, if they are tinplate, they look like a perfect match for my Heco Tinplate Models. ^&cool^&cool

Thanks for the info Simon! :smile2: Did you lift one up? Were they heavier white metal or tinplate? If they are tinplate I must get them!^&grin
