Long Tom (2 Viewers)

I received my 2 Long Toms today. What a beauty! Very detailed and worth the price. The gun swivels and elevates and it holds in place at any angle...BUT it cannot be towed because it did'nt come with a towing kit (another pair of tires) and A frame to hold the gun barrel when in recoiled position. Also, the recoil support platform is fixed in place. This model has to be displayed in a firing position. Because of that, I give it a grade of 90%.

I got my 2 LRDG CWT30 Trucks in the same shipment. Much better than KC (bigger compared to KC's) but the figures are not as good as KC's. For that I give this model a 95%

I agree with your points about the LT, NP.

Maybe the next one will improve, but overall I like mine.

Long Tom and additional crew is excellent AAA+......Congratulations to Figarti....Very well done.......:)

My Long Tom arrived today. The figures are excellent great paint and sculpting. I also bought the add on set. The gun however makes me think that some items are just better made in plastic. I realize that it's a display piece, but mine is in bad shape. I found a piece in the packaging and after about 20 minutes of trying to figure out where it belonged I found it. The handle on the gun breech :( I can fix this with some glue, but it gets better. The pin with the gear that elevates the gun - loose laying in the bottom of gun. After two hours of trying to put it back in I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible. So now the gun will not stay elevated. I have also noticed that the when looking straight at the barrel it looks like it's twisted to one side. Were the real guns designed like this ? I was so impressed with the V1 and V2 sets. This is major disappointment.

Sorry to hear this.....It is very annoying when products arrive damaged.....sounds like a manufacturer's packaging defect.....Why not simply return item for either a replacement or refund......this is a nice piece but is too pricey to receive damaged......alternative plan: I'm sure someone would buy it from you for full price if they simply must have one or another one....

Normally I would just return it to the dealer I bought it from, but in this case they're just aren't any left. They only made 100 pieces and they sold out. This is not the first time I have had damaged pieces arrive from this manufacturer, but it will be the last time :) Also to everyone who has emailed me about acquiring my damaged piece, thanks but I have spend hours gluing and painted it so it is at least presentable with the figures which are excellent. So I will be holding on to it.

So sorry to hear about this but I have had damaged items from companies "across the board" so to speak. Rick at Figarti is a true gent. Did you ever contact him or a member of his team so that the company (Figarti) could do the repairs instead. He made such an offer to me in the past which was comforting especially when an item is AWOL! Do not give up on them & for what it is worth, I have had the least amount of damaged items from Figarti in regards to the "BIG THREE"-well, maybe four now. Best of luck & enjoy.

Good Luck ! :D

I would disagree about the comment "across the board." I guess I've been lucky but I've had very few problems from K & C: in four years of collecting, only two. I know that Rick has been trying to work on this, however.

How can you disagree with the "across the board" comment when it was in reference to "I" in the sentence and therefore me? For the record, I have had four K&C issues this year (2008) alone with three of those due to a manufacturing flaw-I assume; and one Figarti & Honour Bound issue respectively. No emotion and hype-just factual information.

I agree with Beau on this, folks should stop responding in defense of every imagined offense against their preferred mfg....Of my recent buys, I have had problems with NMA, Collectors Showcase, King and Country, etc. Because, I have some talent, most of these defects were easily fixed ,to my satisfaction...Michael

Although you said "I," you give the impression that this is an across the board problem generally. I probably should have joined the first two sentences in my post because based on my experience I've only had those two problems.

This has nothing to do with K & C being my favorite mfg. In four years of collecting god knows how many sets, I've only had those two problems referenced above. However, of the four Figarti sets I've purchased, I've had three problems. On the other hand, HB has been perfect. Bought one NMA set, no problem. Haven't bought any Collectors Showcase.

Across the board is appropriate, let's all be honest here, it happens to every manufacturer as shipping is an unavoidable issue. It doesn't matter how much they pad them, you are at the whim of the "postal throw". I have had damage from everybody, Figarti is unlucky due to the amount of detail they put into a model, a lot of parts, thus you could have issues. That being said, I have more paint chips on K&C then I care to think about. In my own experience, I have had the least breakage on W. Britains and Conte, I can't remember a single incident.

I have had a few problems but not as many as some would have experienced. Then I am fairly new. One of the real heartbreaks were some K&C Armour but fortunately Sierra took care of it. I have been lucky with the Figarti so far though my collection is small. Only one or two small pieces.
I actually seek out broken pieces from dealers to extend my buying power.

I bought The Long Tom from Matt at Hobby Bunker when it first came out, and also bought the add on set. When I first inspected it the gun was in good condition. It has been stored in perfect conditions since I bought it, however, when I just took it out of the box to display it I noticed that the paint on the barrel is totally flakeing off, showing silver metal under the paint. This is a huge disapointment as it was not a cheap item. Has anyone else had this type of problem, and now I am reluctant to buy any more Figarti larger items. Better check your Long Tom out to see if you have the same problem, as the paint job does now look shotty. Regards, Larry.

Hi Larry,

I have sent you a private message, we did have problems with paint flakes on the Long Tom, the problem was identified and those who need help with fixing or replacement, we have taken good care of. The paint flake problem will no longer be an issue with our products, we have changed manufacturing procedures as well as paint supplier. Figarti stands by its product and will make things right when given the chance.

There's a simple solution to this problem. I sprayed the model with clear flat enamel ( do not use acrylic as this is water based). It sealed the the original paint in place. I discovered this solution as I was modifying models (see thread "Modified M3A1). As I repainted modified parts to match with the original paint color, I sprayed the entire model to achieve a seamless blend with original paint. I also noticed that the flaking problem stopped.

BTW, I shipped back to Figarti several models in the past and all were corrected and repaired to my satisfaction. Great customer service! I also noticed the change & improvement of the paint quality on the British M3 GMC, M16 Quad, and the USMC M3 GMC. Far exceeds paint quality of previous releases.

I had the same problem, Rick replaced the gun. great customer service.

I also had this problem of paint flaking with the Long Tom.....Figarti takes care of their customers....Problem solved:)

Boy, you guys that got replacements for your damaged Long Toms and other items thank your lucky stars. After lots of promises not a word. Bought my last thing from this company, and for the rest of you let the "buyer beware" Larry.
