Looking for FOV 81007 Sherman (3 Viewers)

I just looked at this thread closely and I may have what you're looking for but I'm not sure. Back in 2004 before I became interested in toy soldiers, I bought my son one of these FOV Shermans but I don't know if it's the one you're looking for. He's now a teenager and has different interests so I don't think he'd mind selling it if that's the one you're looking for. It's obviously not boxed and who knows where the troops are but I can post a photo if you're interested and I'll let you know the condition.

Thanks, jazzeum! I appreciate the offer. Heaven knows this particular models is all but impossible to come by, but I've got my sights on a boxed 81007. Not only boxed, but MINT (if you can believe it).

My chances are slim to zilch, but I'm going to keep trying to find the blasted thing anyway. Thanks again for your kind offer!

No problem but just in case let me take a photo and post it tonight and advise of the condition in case nothing shows up.

The Pershing is one my favorites too. I wish one of the other companies (Figarti, HB, KC, etc.) would produced it but I understand why they don't since it only served in the last few months of the WWII.
Carlos

Truth be known, desk – the Pershing is one of my favorites, too. Mine came with a detached road wheel, which I found bouncing in the box behind the model. Had to remove the tank and slap the wheel back on (wasn't easy, I can tell you).

The Pershing is downright cool. It has that – I don’t know, how do I describe this? – that ‘macho' bearing, a bold, gutsy bravura that shouts, “COME AND GET IT, YOU BLOODY HUN!” (How’s that for dramatics?)

You probably won’t believe this, but I’m thinking seriously about selling my entire 1/72 Dragon Armor collection (I’ve got nearly every piece). I love the little things and think they’re great. But FOV has won me over big time. Am I crazy or what?

Hey Treadhead,

Have you just picked up the Sherman from the German seller?

Simon

If it's the same one that I was looking at, yes.
And the buyer was from the States....

LOL, you're only as crazy as the rest of us. I've lost count of how many times I've changed collecting themes. But I went the other way, and started collecting 1/72 Dragon after I had bought all the FOV 1/32 on their initial release - and it seemed they weren't making anymore. I haven't bought every issue of the tiny Dragons but I have three of each mold - Early, Mid and Late production. So know I have two shelves full of the little buggers, they have terrific detail despite their small size. I also have heaps of shelves full of 1/72 Corgi aircraft which complement the Dragon vehicles nicely. In addition I buy the occassional built 1/72 kit off eBay, so you could say I'm a bit of a WWII 1/72 nut :)

But I still get the occassional 1/32 FOV piece. However FOV stuff hasn't been a big seller downunder as most Aussie diecast collectors are into 1/18 Aussie street and racing cars. The prices for the 1/32 FOV tanks has also increased recently downunder so it's likely there'll be even fewer of them for sale in the shops.

Btw, if you can't get that Sherman in the states just lmk as I have some good store contacts and most likely I could find one for you downunder in mint boxed condition. But the price may be more expensive than what you are used to as the initial FOV tanks had a RRP of about AU $80 when released in 2004, and the latest issues are nearly AU $100. And Corgi 1/72 bombers have a RRP of AU $295, so it's no surprise that I buy most of my model wants from the US as even with the freight costs it's still cheaper than here.

If it comes to that, I'll definitely let you know. Sounds like you've got one whale of a Dragon collection. And I agree: Dragon Armor models are extremely detailed, especially for such a small scale. Their paint jobs are tops, too.

I don't know. Maybe I'll keep my Dragons and grow my FOV collection. What could it hurt?

The Dragon armors are pretty cool. My favourites are the Wittman Cyber Hobby Tigers and the Otto Carius one. However i think my biggest favourite is the King Tiger with mini Fallschirmjager tank riders.

the most recent one i Have is the Douglas Kay firefly. Great model. No way should you get rid of these. You'll only regret it.

No news on the Sherman for a few days. C'mon treadhead what's happening?
