Re: March London show pics

Hi guys - I saw the pic below of a plane and crew from Dorset Soldiers - which has aroused a bit of interest. Me too - so I contacted Giles Brown at Dorset to ask for details. He tells me that this one is currently out of production - but two more are available. I know some others were interested - so am passing on details below.

The one below is called "Bi-plane in the Desert"

It is of tin-plate - and comes unpainted - at £18 ( that's GB pounds)
The figures are £2.80 each as castings - and can be varied to suit you. If you want the ones from the other planes - that's fine.

Last one he sent me a pic of is below - which he calls "Spotter"
Again its tin-plate - and costs £15. Again all figures are £2.80

I am having some of these lovelies at those prices - though as my interest is in unpainted - I didn't ask about painted ones. As I know that others will be interested too - am passing on the information - as they aren't in his online catalogue yet. Best of luck - johnnybach.^&grin

Nicely done sir, thanks for passing on the additional info. I'm pretty sure the prices for painted were about £36, or thereabouts. Certainly seems a lot of metal for the money.

Cheers
Simon

Re: March London show pics

Just for my own sense of satisfaction, and to make up for the fact that I had to lug it to London and back with me, just tell me that you were fooled for a second or two.^&grin

Ha!! yes, My heart did skip several beats- but I guess The Lt is ignoring my question on those modern vehicles he showed in the pictures for the NETSS show.... now those look REALLY INTERESTING!! (But not as quite as interesting as the barmaids!! )%^V

Just razzing you my friend- thank you so much for the clarification and the great shots!! The "field reporting" from the forum members about the shows is really getting excellent and I for one am very thankful you guys do that for us.

Re: March London show pics

My special thanks and appreciation to Rob, Trooper, Simon and Andy for their time and effort in posting the photographs of the recent London show on this thread.

You guys did one helluva great job. A special thanks to Simon for the million dollar shots.....sorry my PM box was full earlier on.

Cheers, Raymond.:salute:::salute::

Re: March London show pics

YES, your best shot Simon. I am glad that she is not made in glossy..

This show should be called: The London GLOSSY toy soldiers show.

And lastly, the million dollar shots, the ones you've been patiently waiting for, the 1/1 scale bar staff......

Day shift:

and I'm afraid the forum rules prevent me from showing photos of the evening staff.

Sorry you couldn't make the bar this time Rob. :)

Excellent pics Wraith, UK_BOD and the previously thanked Rob who some how got his pics up FAST! I wish I could have been there, but your pics do a great job bringing the show to all of us who couldn't make it! I don't collect glossies, but those White Tower figures look really nice. I think I recall last year UK_BOD posted pics from White Tower, and they caught my eye then too. Thanks again guys. Your time and effort is much appreciated.

An odd thing occured to me while browsing through the photos of the show. How come Wraith's photo of the barmaid got deleted, presumably because youngsters might be viewing and it was deemed unfit for their eyes, and yet a similar photo of a Gunn figure was passed as perfectly acceptable? Trooper

Because toy soldiers are not really real, even if they look real, modeled after real life, they are still toys, kind of..:redface2: Michael

I guess the moderators don't watch cable or prime time sitcoms..........
I doubt that any young person viewing this forum hasn't seen and heard more explicit sexuality on television, movies and Rap music.

There are lots of things that appear on cable and network TV (such as swearing)but that does not mean Shannon & Peter would allow them here. We are just trying to follow guidleines as set by the owner.

Partly right and I have deleted photos of "nude" ladies on here. Look at the Treefrog Store and see if you can find the Egyptian female dancers.........you can't so I used that as my guide.

Although each of may quibble with the mores of the owners, this Forum is intended to be a place in which people of all ages can participate. Yes, you can argue that violence as depicted in some of the toy soldiers we purchase are more pernicious than the beauty of the human body (and I would agree with that argument). However, at the end of the day, Shannon and Pete are paying the freight here and I guess if we don't like it, we have other options.
