Matte to Glossy (2 Viewers)

Hi, Konrad, I finally got a chance to pop over here and see your latest pieces, starting with the Hessian officer. Great finish, and I have to say it, too, these pieces look better with the gloss finish than they originally did. I like the Uhlan, too, what a great expression! You have a great collection here!

Prost!
Brad

One more to add.
This time it is a Britains figure again.
A WWI German Uhlan.

I had the matte version of the K&C Sons Of Empire and glossed them myself. These are really beautiful soldiers. Hopefully K&C will be adding to this line.

Very well done, jrsteel :wink2:
I really like the Sikhs as you show them here.
Konrad :salute::

Some of JJD's Jacobite Highlanders.
The colors and details on the tartan patterns are just beautiful.
As of the painting, these Highlanders are John's most attractive work.

These look great Konrad. I agree, the Highlanders are John's most attractive work.
He took a chance on doing a somewhat obscure conflict such as Cullodan, but I think many collectors are glad that he did. - Ken

Konrad, I have the whole JJD Jacobite line, (they are my favorite figure series that anyone has done), and I think your conversions to gloss are just beautiful. The gloss really brings out the brilliant kilt work on these figures. -- Al

Hi Konrad,

Really brings out the colours and detail.....^&cool

Looking forward to seeing these in the group photo along with the English Infantry. :wink2:

And how about the socks too? I always find that they are far more difficult. Brilliantly painted - and just gorgeous in Gloss. Well done again Konrad.^&grinjb

Right you are, jb,
it it's on the kilts or the socks, the painting of these JJD Highlanders is extremely precise and most perfectly executed.

Another figure that received the "shine".
This time it is an officer of the 42nd (Black Watch) Highlanders in the early stages of WWI, 1914.
This figure is from Britains.

Here's a group of three, Sergeant, Officer and Trooper, of the 42nd Black Watch Regiment in early WWI.
The trooper seems to think "Oh sh.., they're going all in"

Thought I'd take Konrad's invite to join in on this thread and post my most resent conversion - A JJD Dragoon.

Done in the usual way, with a good amount of repainting on the figure of the dragoon - Redoing the face,
deliniating the coat lining, vest and pants (all one solid mass of yellow on original) and brightening the coat. Then finished w/ a couple of coats of clear acrylic.

Pretty happy with the results and looking forward to working on more of these very nice figures by JJD. - Ken

From the early stage of WWI here are some troops of the 84th Infantry Regiment "von Manstein".
Very nice sculpting on these figures by Britains.
My favorite is the bareheaded trooper with the helmet strapped to his belt on the back.

I actually prefer the middle one, but all of them are stunning! The Britains' WWI MATT are turning out to be my favorite of these conversions.

Hi Sandor,
you're right, the middle one is very good too, and on second thoughts I have to say that all of them are my favorites ^&grin
These WWI figures are a real pleasure for me right now.

Some more WWI troops for tonight.
This time it is some British Infantry, again from the early stages of the war.
Figures and the barricade, all made by Britains.
