I could be wrong (and the mind can't take in everything) but it seems as if there are photos of some things in the exhibitor area that were not there on Friday when I was there (left around 330).

And not directly related to toy soldiers and model figures, but if you didn't get to see this, you have to:

This is the carpet that the casino hotel chose to install in the hallway leading from the casino back to the Radisson Hotel. When you walk down the hallway, this horrible carpet creates an optical illusion that the floor undulates. It's such a strong illusion that it can even feel like you're moving up and down. And no, I was not drunk when I walked down the hall. What was really interesting was that total strangers also walking in the hall said the exact same thing, including hotel employees.

The only thing we can figure is that the casino did this to encourage you to stay in the casino and keep spending your money.

Prost!

Is the mounted Chamberlain a painted Ron Tunison bronze ?

I believe that you are correct. There was a collection of Tunison castings that had been painted.

You're correct Brad, there are exhibitors who can't make it in till Saturday. We have an area set aside for Saturday exhibits. It helps for one thing, since everything brought in on Friday is scored at the end of the day, after we close to the public. The judges can then get a look at the Saturday exhibits, and Saturday afternoon, the judges get together, compare notes, and tally their votes.

I'll post any info I can for Mark's pictures later today, probably this evening. I can identify some of them off the top of my head, though I didn't get to spend as much time in the exhibition this year as I usually do.

Prost!

Haha! I said the same thing about that carpet! It was like walking through a van Gogh painting while on LSD!

I liked the pitcher, a Philadelphia A, maybe Lefty Grove.

Thanks Brad. Good to know I'm not going crazy {eek3}

One of the benefits of the show for me is I get to see my friend Keith Rocco, he's set up along the far wall next to Thor Johnson, two class acts right next to each other.

He had a few new paintings on display, this one really grabbed me, French old and young guard defending the cemetery behind the church in Plancenoit................it's IMO one of his best Napoleonic subjects to date...........

Brad,

The figure is of Eddie Plank. Long time Phila A's............part of Connie Mack's staff. He is a HOF'er tallying exactly 300 career wins.

Mark

Louis, I'm sorry I missed you, but that illustrates one downside for me--being a member of the show staff, I don't get to see everyone and everything that I'd like to.

Prost!
Brad

Brad,

Sorry I missed you too. I had a great time, which would only have been better if I had bumped into you as well.

Regards,

Louis

Mark,

Thanks, I know who Eddie Plank is. He actually had 326 wins, 21 with the short lived Federal League, which are counted in MLB stats.

He died rather young and was elected posthumously to the HOF after WW II.

Brad

Mark your photos are outstanding. Can I ask what kind of camera you were using?

Walt

Love the Jerry gunboats and Roman dio's and the pictures of everything are very clear and crisp. Thanks for posting Mark and maybe one day i'll get to the states and visit one of these shows.

Tom

OK, let's see if I can help attribute some of the photos Mark took.

Those are from George's tables, I'm pretty sure.

This toy battleship was offered for sale by Paul Boyd, another long-time vendor and friend of the show. I don't recall if he or his sidekick Ron built it or if it was built by someone else:

The kits in the tins are pin-up style kits, but I can't recall the seller's name, offhand:

And this was on Hobby Bunker's tables...

This is part of Don Johnson's display. Don is a member of the Wings & Wheels IPMS club in Massachusetts, but better-known as a member of the Hawaiian Shirt Mafia.

The flat to the left is the bandmaster of the 145th Zoaves, along with a Hessian Jäger (center) and the 24th Foot at Roarke's Drift.

The others, I can't yet identify.
