Mike,

Call me or email if you need a place to stay while the Hurricane blows over. I got a guest suite in the basement of the house. Pets no problem, bring your collection and a huge driveway for the Harley and a Trailer. I am at your disposal.

John your Neighbor is San Antone

PS: Anybody else in harms way call me at 210-541-1445

Thinking about you also, Mike.

Got my fingers crossed that the storm stays clear of Galveston.

I doubt that there's a plot of ground in the lower 48 that's suffered more from Hurricanes.

John...appreciate the offer...excellent Southern hospitality...

just kind of watching the development right now...

it's Category 1 and they are thinking Category 3 by landfall...I'm on the dirty side...and they are guessing possibly 30 inches...my sister is in Dallas...she told me to come up there...not sure what I'm gonna do...I bought electric shutters for my house when I moved in...$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!....so boarding up only takes a few minutes...I'm just gonna sweat the news tomorrow morning...

THANK YOU!!!

Moe...New Orleans has got to be a close second...the 1900 Storm that crushed Galveston is still considered the worst loss of life in US history...8,000 died in that storm...thanks for crossing your fingers for me...

Mike,

If it stalls and turns to CAT 3...get the hell outta there! Here, the beer is cold, the cabinet is full of booze, the wife is a mean cook and we can go to the Alamo Drafthouse to catch a movie. In all seriousness, I got a beat on a helicopter pilot here in in San Antonio and can get you round trip for about $1700 (thats how much it costs round trip to South Padre which is further) so lemme know.

We were in the Tropical Storm Frank that hit Cozumel and Quintana Roo two weeks ago and THAT was a lot of rain for just a "storm". I was in a CAT 5 Typhoon in Japan once and this Texan was clicking his heels to take me back to Kansas...err Texas. So, those storms are no joke and take no chances.

John manning the .60 on the chopper.

Mike, if this system is going to hit Galveston then take up big John's offer and lock up the house and head to SA to be safe. My fingers and toes are crossed for you mate. I have been through a few big blows (our equivalent to hurricanes are cyclones) and they are nasty to say the least!

Mike, Boston is lovely this time of year! I'll even take you to the tea party ship and we'll make John really jealous! 😜!

Come visit New York! You can stay in my guest room, and I will arrange tours of all the local collections, including mine, Rich Schuster's and Mark Hoffman's, plus the Intrepid Airpower Museum, the American Airpower Museum at Republic where the warbirds were actually built, and the American Armor Museum.

Mike. Never mind Boston you all gotta' come on up here to Maine. We have Lobster, Clams, and all the seafood that you can eat until you drop.
The beaches are open, the sun is warm and endless miles of sand and "gentle" surf.

Or you can just sit in my 48 acres of forest and fight off the mosquitoes while down some cold Sam Adams and grilled sausage.

But seriously, please play it on the safe side.

this is the best website/hobby I have ever joined...
for real...
to have several people extend their homes and hospitality is most generous and flattering...

toy soldier guys rule!

I sincerely appreciate all the offers...but I think I'm gonna ride this out...
thank you John...Sammy...Zach...Louis...Larry...for the extremely generous offers to host me...

my home is brick...it's sturdy...my roof is tight...thew windows are well protected against wind/debris with the electric roll down shutters...

I have a propane gas grill to cook on if the power goes out...pantry and ice box are stocked...gas in the car...
beaucoup cash in my wallet...
CASH IS KING in a crisis...

I heard on the radio we might get 100 mph gusts...severe flooding...and that once it hits landfall it may travel east to Galveston...

the part about traveling east towards me is most scary...

but I'm good...I'm gonna buckle down and hope for the best...

thank you all for your well wishes and offers of hospitality...

Mike...

You got my contact info...do not hesitate.

Keep the ammo dry.

John your Neighbor.

PS: The wife reached out to our soccer parents in CC, fortunately they all have family in the North.
