Imperial's Rorke's Drift. This was the first Rorke's Drift display that I bought. The Frontline in matte with the JG Miniatures buildings, which I posted earlier, was the second. I also have Trophy's version, but I don't have room to display it since I bought it last. I guess three versions are enough, although I got hooked on this battle after seeing the movie "Zulu" in 1964.

A City Imperial Volunteers supply column from the Boer War. I believe it was made by Lancer based on the rare Britain's version.

Steadfast Maxim gun, Boer War pom pom, and screw gun sets. Kingcast U.S. Infantry in China, 1900 and British heavy artillery. I have about six additional Kingcast artillery sets which are not on display, including one of my favorites of a Canadian artillery sled gun.

Great, diverse collection! Mine is nowhere near that diverse! Gotta work on that... Those Frontline Naploleonics are very nice! I already have 4 Napoleonic collections in Tradition glossies, K&C, First Legion and another no name Russian brand. I can't do another one but I like them!

Have to get more glossies in my collection... Waiting patiently for the First Legion "Agincourt" release which is my next conquest! That would help diversify eras in my collection, at least...

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your compliments. Although my collection is diverse/eclectic, there are many areas that I don't collect---composition, flats, 60mm, and rarities. Although I love what K&C, First Legion, etc are doing, they are too pricey for my blood; I can buy a set of nine Hiriart glossy figures for what two of their figures cost. However, they are in a different class than the traditional, glossy toy soldiers I like, hence the price differental. I am just not willing to pay it.

I know what you mean about the Napoleonics; when I started collecting Frontline's, I sold my Tradition and Trophy Napoleonics. I am glad you see the light about adding more glossies to your collection---they are charming and enhance what you already have.

Indian Army sets are among my favorites due to their colorful and diverse uniforms. I think you would agree that they look much better as glossies than they would painted in matte. I have Indian Army sets in my collection from three manufacturers: Nickolson, Kingcast, and Trophy (the last two named companies are no longer in business).

Here are photos of my Nickolson Indian Army sets.

More Nickolson including a neat screw gun battery. Note the interesting uniform that the officer is wearing.
