Mike Tarantino's Toy Soldier Collection (1 Viewer)

Love 'em all Mike, I hoped they would be appearing today {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

The IA Regiment in khaki jackets and blue trousers are 45th RATTRAY'S SIKHS

Cheers

Martyn:)

Hi Martyn,

I was hoping you would see this and refresh my memory regarding who they were. Thank you! I love the 45th Rattray's Sikhs uniforms. Most of those sets came in unlabeled Trophy boxes.

Best regards,

More Trophy Indian Army.

Joe,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad you that you enjoyed the Zulu War displays from Frontline, Trophy, and Imperial. I am hoping by posting my collection on the Forum, others will follow and do the same, since that is the only way most of us will ever get to see them.

Best regards,

Trophy Indian Army continuing. In the last photo, I am missing the colour party plus their is room for one additional regiment following them as shown in photos three and four.

Various assorted Trophy odds and ends as we would say here in the states or bits and pieces as you would say over the pond. In addition, I also have, but not displayed, about a dozen Trophy ACW sets and a few more Boxer Rebellion and Highland Brigade sets.

Lovely Mike {bravo}}

I remember the discussion we had about that C.I.V. set a couple of years ago :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Amazing collection, especially love the Trophy figures many of which I have never seen before.
Did you collect any Trophy Napoleonics and American Revolution?

Awesome Collection Mike!

Carlos

Thank you Carlos. Good hearing from you. Let me know the next time your out here, if you would like to see the collection in person. BTW, I missed your coverage of the Chicago Show---it just wasn't the same without your photos.

Thank you. Trophy's figures are really something special for all us glossy lovers. Yes, I did have quite a few Trophy Napoleonic sets at one time, but sold them off at the West Coaster since I had so many Frontline Napoleonics and didn't have room to display both. BTW, you have a fantastic collection!

I am very fond of Andrew Rose's classic, 54mm glossy toy soldiers. As many of you may know, he started out as Mark Time, then Steadfast, did some of the Nostalgia sets, and finally, Bastion Models. He also had sets produced for him as Wessex.

I have all of Bastion's Boxer Rebellion series: Sets B.1 through B.20 plus the two artillery sets, C.1 and C.2. I sold off most of my other Bastion sets from the "A" series since I was acquiring so many similar Hiriart sets. I did retain a few, but I wish I still had those WWI Bosnians.

U.S., German, French, and British Marines. British, Austro-Hungarian, German, French, Italian, and Russian sailors. Boxers, Imperial Chinese Infantry. Japanese, Russian, British, Bersaglieri, and Indian infantry.

What ACW sets do you have. That is one area of Trophy that I try to collect that is somewhat reasonable on the secondary market.

Thank you,
Glad to see a fellow glossy lover! While I enjoy my matte figures glossies hold a special place and link to my childhood. Tedtoy, ATS, Somerset and Little Legion fill my glossy passion right now.

Joe Saine currently has several Trophy ACW sets on eBay at about $100 each. That is quite reasonable because they originally sold for $85-90.

I have both the Gettysburg big box sets. I also have, also in their original boxes, the following sets:

ACW1 54th N.Y.
ACW1 4th Kentucky
ACW3 54th N.Y.
ACW3 4th Kentucky
ACW4 19th Illinois Zouaves
ACW4 Maryland Guard Zouaves
ACW18 11th Mississippi
ACW26 Iron Brigade
ACW32 11th Indiana (Wallace Zoauves)
ACW33 9th N.Y. (Hawkins Zouaves)
ACW38 Mississippi Marine Brigade
ACW42 Irish Brigade
ACW42 54th N.Y.
ACW42 Army of Northern Virginia

I had others, but sold them, imcluding the three hand-to-hand sets.
